The Sharper Image Glove Box Car Jump Starter is the easy way to boost and start a dead car battery. Simply insert it into the cigarette lighter (12V DC outlet) and turn it on to transfer power through your car’s internal wiring. You stay safe and dry inside your car while your battery gets a boost. This handy device is also a convenient power bank to charge your phone or tablet.Keep it in your glove box for peace of mind all year long.

CHARGING THE GLOVE BOX CAR JUMP STARTER

The Glove Box Car Jump Starter has been shipped partially charged. However, for optimum performance, you must recharge it before first use. The Glove Box Car Jump Starter can only be recharged through the cigarette lighter while driving.

1. Ensure the Power Button of the Glove Box Car Jump Starter is set in the OFF position.
2. Start your car.
3. Plug the Glove Box Car Jump Starter into the cigarette lighter (12V DC outlet) for 2-4 hours forrecharging while you drive. When all of the LEDs are on, the Glove Box Car Jump Starter is fullycharged.NOTE: When charging the Glove Box Car Jump Starter, ensure that the vehicle’s engine is running to prevent over drainage of the car battery. The Glove Box Car Jump Starter can only be charged when the car battery voltage is greater than 11.5V. (The circuitry has a built-in power saver to protect the car battery.)

IMPORTANT: Recharge the Glove Box Car Jump Starter after each use, and every 3 months, to keep the internal battery fully charged and to prolong the battery life.

CHECKING THE BATTERY CAPACITY

Press the Power Button ONCE to read the battery status of the Glove Box Car Jump Starter. Press once again to turn the status lights off. The Battery Level Indicators will illuminate as follows:4 LEDs (100%): Internal battery is fully charged, able to charge a car battery or phone3 LEDs (75%): Internal battery is mostly charged, able to charge a car battery or phone2 LEDs (50%): Recharge as soon as possible, able to charge phone only1 LED (less than 25%): Recharge as soon as possible, no charging available

NOTE: The Battery Level Indicators will turn OFF automatically in 5 seconds.

BOOSTING A WEAK CAR BATTERY

Before plugging the Glove Box Car Jump Starter into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter (12V DC outlet):

1. Make sure all vehicle lights (interior and exterior) and accessories (radio, etc.) are turned OFF.
2. Make sure the vehicle’s cigarette lighter (12V DC outlet) is clean, free of debris, and receiving power.
3. Press and hold the POWER button for 3 SECONDS. Ensure that all 4 Battery Level Indicators areON. This means the Glove Box Car Jump Starter is charged and ready to boost your car battery.NOTE: If the cigarette lighter (12V DC outlet) is not properly connected to the battery, the indicators will switch OFF after 30 seconds.
4. Insert the Glove Box Car Jump Starter into the vehicle’s cigarette lighter (12V DC outlet).SPECIAL INSTRUCTION FOR CAR ALARMS: If you have a car alarm, put it into “valet mode” before attempting to use the Glove Box Car Jump Starter. Many popular car alarm models cut off power to vehicle’s electrical system. The Glove Box Car Jump Starter will not work while this type of alarm is engaged.
5. The car battery charging process can take up to 20 minutes, during which all of the Battery Level Indicators will blink. When they stop blinking, your Glove Box Car Jump Starter will turn off automatically.
6. You are now ready to begin. BUT, before attempting to start your vehicle, TURN OFF ALL LIGHTS AND ANYTHING DRAWING POWER.
7. REMOVE the Glove Box Car Jump Starter from the cigarette lighter (12V DC outlet). Permanentdamage to the Glove Box Car Jump Starter may occur if not removed.
8. Start the vehicle.WARNING: Before attempting to start your vehicle, the Glove Box Car Jump Starter MUST be removed from the vehicle’s cigarette lighter (12V DC outlet). Otherwise, permanent damage to the device may occur.

CHARGING YOUR PHONE OR TABLET

NOTE: Prior to connecting any accessory, make sure that the Glove Box Car Jump Starter’s power button is set to the OFF position. This device is compatible with all USB-charging devices, such as smartphones, tablets, MP3 players, GPS, etc.

1. Connect the included USB cable into the Glove Box Car Jump Starter’s USB port.
2. Push the Power Button ON and turn on your accessory.NOTE: You cannot charge any accessory while the Glove Box Car Jump Starter is in recharging mode or being used to boost your car battery. NOTE: You cannot recharge the Glove Box Car Jump Starter through the USB port. It can only be recharged through the cigarette lighter (12V DC outlet) while you are driving.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• Before attempting to start a vehicle, the Glove Box Car Jump Starter must be removed from the vehicle’s cigarette lighter (12V DC outlet).
• The Glove Box Car Jump Starter is shipped partially charged. You should fully charge it before use.
• The Glove Box Car Jump Starter should always be stored in the OFF mode. Always recharge theGlove Box Car Jump Starter after every use and before storing.
• The Glove Box Car Jump Starter is designed to recharge 12V batteries with the lowest voltage at 10.5V. If the vehicle battery is severely drained, call a service center or tow truck.
• CAR ALARM USERS: If you have a car alarm, put it into “valet mode” before attempting to use theGlove Box Car Jump Starter.
• Do not submerge in water.
• For optimum performance, store at temperatures between 32°F and 100°F.
• During operation, the unit may feel warm. Discontinue use if it becomes too hot.
• Do not attempt to reverse polarity.
• 8A fuses are used in a protection system that regulates the discharge and recharging of theGlove Box Car Jump Starter.
• Always recycle your Lithium battery products properly
