STIRLING 239L Upright Fridge STR-H239W User Guide

Installation

CAUTION! The fridge is heavy – transport it with care! To avoid back or other injury, we recommend you ask someone for help or use a mechanical aid when moving it.

1. Getting it ready for useBefore you start installing the fridge, wipe the interior surfaces and accessories with a well wrung out cloth moistened with lukewarm water with a little baking soda added. This will remove any dust from transit and storage and help remove the typical smell of a brand new product. Dry thoroughly.
2. Need the doors reversed?Your new upright fridge has the capability of the door opening from the right or left side. If your set-up requires reversal of the door swing, please follow the instructions on pages 16-17 of the supplied manual.
3. Where to installThe fridge is designed for freestanding use. The floor must be strong, sturdy and level — adjust the levelling feet, if necessary. Avoid areas where the fridge would be exposed to direct sunlight, heat, extreme cold ambient temperatures or excessive moisture and high humidity. Installing it in the coolest area of the room will save energy consumption and running costs. Allow at least 12cm clear space at the back and 5cm at the sides so air can circulate freely around the fridge.For comprehensive installation instructions, please consult the manual.

Connection

1. SettlingBefore plugging in your new fridge, let it stand upright for at least 4 hours to allow the refrigerant gases to settle into the compressor.
2. Power connectionPlug in the fridge and secure the power supply cord behind the unit, making sure the plug is accessible after installation.
3. Cool downWhen first starting up, and after a period out of use, allow the unit to cool down on the coldest setting (7) for at least 2 hours before placing perishable food in the fridge.Nearly done! Just a bit more on the other side of this page.

Thermostat control

1. LocationThe control for regulating the temperature in the fridge is located on the upper right hand side of the cabinet. The higher the number on the dial, the colder the temperature.
2. First useThe first time you turn the fridge on, set the control to the coldest position (7). After 24 to 48 hours, adjust it to the setting that best suits your needs – a middle setting should be appropriate in most cases.
3. Switching offTo turn the fridge off, first turn the thermostat control to the minimum position (0), which will stop the cooling cycle, then disconnect the power supply cord from the wall outlet in order to shut off power to the unit.

The fridge interior

The refrigerator compartment is suitable for short-term storage of all your fresh food. The temperature inside varies depending on the amount of food stored and the frequency of door opening.

1. The walls of the fridge are equipped with a series of runners so you can position the glass shelves to suit your storage requirements.
2. Two glass-covered crisper drawers keep your fruit and vegetables fresh.
3. The door racks can be positioned at different heights in order to fit food and drink containers of different size. Simply pull the racks up and out from their current position in the door and replace them securely in a different spot to suit your storage requirements.
