COFFEE MAKER
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE AND KEEP FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
WARNINGS
- This appliance is intended to be used in households and similar applications such as:• staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and another working environment;• farmhouses;• by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments;• bed and breakfast type environments.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- The appliance must not be immersed.
- WARNING: The filling aperture must not be opened during use.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
- Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- The surfaces are liable to get hot during use.
- Regarding the instructions for cleaning surfaces in contact with food, refer to the section “Cleaning and Maintenance” on page EN-5 of the manual.

- The heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use.
- WARNING: Avoid spillage on the connector.
- The coffee maker shall not be placed in a cabinet when in use.
- The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Do not use outdoors.
- Always place the appliance on a flat, level surface.
- Never leave the appliance unattended while connected to the supply mains.
- Switch off and unplug the appliance from the main socket when not in use or before cleaning.
- Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
- Do not use or place the appliance on a hot surface or near the source of heat.
- Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surface.
- Never switch on the appliance without water in the water tank.
- Never touch the appliance with wet or damp hands while in use.
- Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning.
- Be careful not to get scalded by steam.
- Do not use the carafe if it is cracked or the handle is loose.
- Never leave the empty carafe on the warming plate when the appliance is operating, otherwise, the carafe is liable to crack.
DESCRIPTION
BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE FOR THE FIRST TIMECarefully unpack the appliance and remove all packaging materials.Wipe the appliance with a slightly damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.It is recommended to wash the drip coffee system before first use.Fill the water tank with cold water and follow the directions for brewing coffee to make at least two carafes of coffee without using ground coffee.Switch off the coffee maker and allow it to cool before refilling with cold water.
BREWING COFFEE NOW
- Place the appliance on a dry, level, and heat-resistant surface, away from any edge.
- Open the top cover.
- Fill the water tank with the required amount of fresh, cold water using the water level indicator as a guide.• The markings on the water tank window indicate the level of water required to brew the desired number of cups.• To avoid overflow, do not fill the water tank with water past the max line.
- Place the mesh filter into the filter holder, making sure it is assembled correctly.
- Place a 1×4 paper filter (not supplied) into the mesh filter.
- Add the desired ground coffee in the paper filter by spreading it evenly.• It is recommended to use a level spoon of ground coffee (approximately 6g) for every cup of coffee.
- Close the top cover until a click is heard.
- Slide the carafe into the appliance ensuring it sits correctly on the plate.
- Plug the coffee maker into the main socket.
- Press the power on/off button to turn on the coffee maker.• The indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the appliance is brewing coffee.
- The coffee will begin to flow from the filter holder after a short time.• During brewing, you can remove the carafe from the warming plate. The brewing process does not stop during this period and only the flow of coffee from the filter holder stops. Do not remove the carafe for longer than 30 seconds or the coffee may overflow the filter holder.• Although the coffee maker has the above feature, it is not recommended to pour coffee before the cycle has been completed as doing this may affect the flavor of the coffee.• It is normal for the appliance to emit steam while it is brewing coffee.• The brewing process can be interrupted at any time by pressing the power on/off button. The red indicator light will go out.
- When the brewing process is finished, allow coffee to stop dripping and then remove the carafe to serve.
- To keep coffee warm after the brewing process has finished, place the carafe on the warming plate.• The appliance is designed to keep the coffee warm for approximately 40 minutes and then the appliance will be turned off automatically.
- To turn off the coffee maker, press the power on/off button.• The indicator light will go out.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Turn off and unplug the appliance from the main socket. Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.
- Clean the outside of the appliance with a slightly damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.
- Never immerse the appliance in water.
- Clean the removable parts in warm soapy water then rinse them thoroughly.
- Do not use abrasive or chemical cleaning agents.
DESCALINGRegularly descale the appliance using a specific descaler.
- Fill the tank with water and descaler to the MAX line. (Refer to the descaler instructions for the scale of water and descaler.)
- Place the carafe onto the plate.
- Plugin the appliance and then press the power on/off button.
- After descaling, rinse out the appliance by operating the appliance using water at least twice (two full tanks of water).
