Safety information

  • Before setting up the monitor carefully read all the documentation that came with the package.
  • To prevent fire or shock hazards, never expose the monitor to rain or moisture.
  • Never try to open the monitor cabinet. The dangerous high voltages inside the monitor may result in serious physical injury.
  • If the power supply is broken, do not try to fix it by yourself Contact a qualified service technician or your retailer.
  • Before using the product, make sure all cables are correctly connected and the power cables are not damaged. If you detect any damage, contact your dealer immediately.
  • Slots and openings on the back or top of the cabinet are provided for ventilation. Do not block these slots. Never place this product near or over a radiator or heat source unless proper ventilation is provided.
  • The monitor should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your dealer or local power company.
  • Use the appropriate power plug which complies with your local power standard.
  • Do not overload power strips and extension cords. Overloading can result in fir or electric shock.
  • Avoid dust, humidity, and temperature extremes. Do not place the monitor in any area where it may become wet. Place the monitor on a stable surface.
  • Unplug the unit during a lightning storm or if it will not be used for a long period of time. This will protect the monitor from damage due to power surges.
  • Never push objects or spill liquid of any kind into the slots on the monitor cabinet.
  • If you encounter technical problems with the monitor, contact a qualified service technician or your retailer.
  • Adjustment of the volume control, as well as the equalizer to other settings than the center position, may increase the ear-/headphones output voltage and therefore the sound pressure level.
  • The adapter is only used for this monitor, do not use it for another purpose.

WARNINGUsage of other than the specified head- or earphones can result in hearing loss due to excessive sound pressures.

Care & Cleaning

  • Before you lift or reposition your monitor, it is better to disconnect the cables and power cord. Follow the correct lifting techniques when positioning the monitor. When lifting or carrying the monitor, grasp the edges of the monitor. Do not lift the display by the stand or the cord.
  • Cleaning. Turn your monitor off and unplug the power cord. Clean the monitor surface with a lint-free, non-abrasive cloth. Stubborn stains may be removed with a cloth dampened with a mild cleaner.
  • Avoid using a cleaner containing alcohol or acetone. Use a cleaner intended for use with the LCD. Never spray cleaner directly on the screen, as it may drip inside the monitor and cause an electric shock.

The following symptoms are normal with the monitor:

  • The screen may flicker during the initial use due to the nature of the fluorescent light. Turn off the Power Switch and turn it on again to make sure that the flicker disappears.
  • You may find slightly uneven brightness on the screen depending on the desktop pattern you use.
  • When the same image is displayed for hours, an afterimage of the previous screen may remain after switching the image. The screen will recover slowly or you can turn off the Power Switch for hours.
  • When the screen becomes black or flashes, or cannot work anymore, contact your dealer or service center to fix it. Do not repair the screen by yourself!

Assembling the monitor

To assemble the monitor:

  1. Place the display flat on a cloth on the table, then attach the base to the arm and fix it with the screw to join them tightly. You can easily tighten the screw with your fingers.
  2. Adjust the monitor to the angle that is most comfortable for you.

Monitor introduction

1.6.1 Using the Controls buttonUse the control button on the back of the monitor to adjust the image settings.

  1. Power Indicator:• The color definition of the power indicator is as the below table.
  2. Central button:• Press this button to enter the OSD menu.• Press this button to turn on the monitor when turned off.
  3. Left key:• Exit the OSD menu or return to the previous layer.
  4. Right key:• Power Off shortcut key.• Enter the option of the next layer.
  5. Up key:• Use this hotkey to GamePlus.• Move the option upwards or increase the option value.
  6. Down key:• Use this hotkey to GameVisual.• Move the option downwards or decrease the value of the option.• Key Lock shortcut key. Press and hold it for 5 seconds to enable/ disable Keys Lock.

GamePlus Function

  •  Press GamePlus Button to enter the GamePlus main menu.
  • Activate Crosshair, Timer, or FPS Counter or Display Alignment function.
  • Press the and buttons to select and press to confirm the function needed. Press to go off, and exit.

GameVisual Function

The GameVisual function helps you select among different picture modes in a convenient way.To active GameVisual:Press the GameVisual hotkey repeatedly to select.

  • Scenery Mode: This is the best choice for scenery photo displaying with GameVisual™ Video Intelligence Technology.
  • Racing Mode: This is the best choice for racing game playing with GameVisual™ Video intelligence Technology.
  • Cinema Mode: This is the best choice for movie watching with GameVisual™Video intelligence Technology.
  • RTS/RPG Mode: This is the best choice for Real-Time Strategy (RTS)/ Role-Playing Game (RPG) playing with GameVisual™Video intelligenceTechnology.
  • FPS Mode: This is the best choice for First Person Shooter game playing with GameVisual™ Video intelligence Technology.
  • sRGB Mode: This is the best choice for viewing photos and graphics from PCs.
  • MOBA Mode: This is the best choice for multiplayer online battle arena game playing with GameVisual™Video intelligence Technology.
  • In the Racing mode, the following function(s) are not user-configurable: Saturation, Skin Tone, ASCR.
  • In the sRGB mode, the following function(s) are not user-configurable:  Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Color Temp., Skin Tone, ASCR.
  • In the MOBA mode, the following function(s) are not user-configurable: Saturation, Skin Tone, ASCR.

Detaching the arm/stand (for wall mount)(wall mount only for HDMI Port)

The detachable stand of this monitor is specially designed for a wall mount.To detach the arm/stand

  1.  Disconnect power and signal cables. Carefully put the front of the monitor face down on a clean table.
  2. Use a screwdriver to remove the two screws on the arm (Figure 1), and then detach the arm/stand from the monitor (Figure 2)

  • We recommend that you cover the table surface with soft cloth to prevent damage to the monitor.
  • Hold the stand of the monitor while removing the screws.

  • The wall mount kit ( 75 x 75 mm) is purchased separately.
  • Use only the UL Listed Wall Mount Bracket with a minimum weight/load of 12 kg (Screw size: M4 x 10 mm).

Adjusting the monitor

  • For optimal viewing, we recommend that you look at the full face of the monitor, then adjust the monitor to the angle that is most comfortable for you.
  • Hold the stand to prevent the monitor from falling when you change its angle.
  • You can adjust the monitor’s angle from +22˚ to -5˚.

It is normal that the monitor slightly shakes while you adjust the viewing angle.

OSD (On-Screen Display) menu

How to reconfigure

  1. Press the MENU button to activate the OSD menu.
  2. Press the and buttons to toggle between options in the Menu. As you move from one icon to another, the option name is highlighted.
  3. To select the highlighted item on the menu press the button.
  4.  Press the and buttons to select the desired parameter.
  5. Press the button to enter the slide bar and then use the or buttons, according to the indicators on the menu, to make your changes.
  6. Select the to return to the previous menu or to accept and return to the previous menu.

OSD Function Introduction

Gaming

  • Overclocking:*. ON: This function allows you to adjust the refresh rate.*. Max.Refresh.Rate: This allows you to select a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz (Only for DisplayPort input). After selecting,press the button to activate the setting.

Overclocking may cause screen flickering. To reduce such effects, disconnect the DisplayPort cable and use the monitor OSD  menu to try again with a safer Max. Refresh rate.

  • OD(Tracefree): Improves the gray level response time of the LCD panel.This function is not available when ELMB is enabled.
  • GameVisual: See 1.6.1 GameVisual.Function for details.
  • GamePlus: See 1.6.1 GamePlus.Function for details.
  • Adaptive-Sync/FreeSync Premium: Allows a FreeSync Premium (Adaptive-Sync) supported graphics source to dynamically adjust display refresh rate based on typical content frame rates for power efficiency, virtually stutter-free, and low-latency display update.• Adaptive-Sync/FreeSync Premium can only be activated within 48Hz~165Hz for DisplayPort.• FreeSync Premium can only be activated within 48Hz~144Hz for HDMI.•For supported GPUs, minimum PC system, and driver requirements, please contact the GPU manufacturers.
  • ELM:  Check to decrease motion blur and minimize the ghosting part when on-screen objects are fast-moving.When FreeSync Premium is Off, this function can only be activated when the refresh rate is 100Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz or 165Hz.
  • Shadow Boost: Dark color enhancement adjusts monitor gamma curve to enrich the dark tones in an image, making dark scenes and objects much easier to be seen.This function is only available in Racing mode, RTS/RPG mode, FPS mode, or sRGB mode.

Image

  • Brightness: The adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
  • Contrast: The adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
  • VividPixel: Enhances the outline of the displayed picture and generates high-quality images on the screen.
  • ASCR: Turns on/off the ASCR (ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio) function.
  • Aspect Control: Adjusts the aspect ratio to Full, or 4:3
  • Blue Light Filter* Level 0: No change.* Level 1~4: The higher the level, the less blue light is scattered. When Blue Light Filter is activated, the default settings of Racing The mode will be automatically imported. Between Level 1 to Level 3, the Brightness function is user-configurable.  Level 4 is an optimized setting. It is in compliance with TUV Low Blue Light Certification. The Brightness function is not user-configurable.

Please refer to the following to alleviate eye strains:

  • Users should take some time away from the display if working for long hours. It is advised to take short breaks (at least 5 mins) after around 1 hour of continuous working at the computer. Taking short and frequent breaks is more effective than a single longer break.
  • To minimize eye strain and dryness in your eyes, users should rest the eye periodically by focusing on objects that are far away.
  • Eye exercises can help to reduce eye strain. Repeat these exercises often. If eyestrain continues please consult a physician. Eye exercises: (1) Repeating look up and down (2) Slowly roll your eyes (3) Move your eyes diagonal.
  • High energy blue light may lead to eye strain and AMD (Age-Related Macular Degeneration). Blue light Filter to reduce 70% (max.) harmful blue light to avoid CVS (Computer Vision Syndrome).

Color

Set the desired color setting from this menu.

  • Color Temp: Contains 4 modes including Cool, Normal, Warm, and User Mode.
  • Saturation: the adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
  • Skin Tone: Contains three color modes including Reddish, Natural, and Yellowish.

Input Select

In this function, you can select your desired input source.

MyFavorite

  • Shortcut:*. Shortcut.1/Shortcut.2: Sets the shortcut functions for shortcut buttons.When a certain function is selected or activated, your shortcut button may not support it. Available function choices for the shortcut: GamePlus (only for Shortcut.1), GameVisual (only for Shortcut.2), Brightness, Contrast, Blue Light Filter, Color Temp., Volume.
  • Customized.Setting: Loads/Saves all settings on the monitor.

System.Setup

  • Language: There are 21 languages for your selection, including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Czech, Croatian, Polish, Romanian, Hungarian, Turkish, Simplified Chinse, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Indonesian, Persian.
  • Sound: Sets the sound-related settings from this menu.*. Volume: The adjusting range is from 0 to 100.*. Mute: Toggles the monitor sound between on and off.
  • ECO Mode: reduces power consumption.
  • Power.Indicator: Turn the power LED indicator on/off.
  • Power Key Lock: Enables or disables the power key.
  • Key Lock: To disable all function keys. Press over 5 seconds to cancel the key lock function.
  • OSD.Setup:* Adjusts the OSD timeout from 10 to 120 seconds.*Enables or disables the DDC/CI function.* Adjusts the OSD background from opaque to transparent.
  • Information: Shows the monitor information.
  • All. Reset: “Yes” allows you to restore the default settings.

Troubleshooting (FAQ)

Problem Possible Solution
Power LED is not ON Press the o button to check if the monitor is in the ON mode.Check if the power cord is properly connected to the monitor and the power outlet.Check Power Indicator function in main menu OSD. Select “ON” to turn on the power LED.
The power LED lights amber and there is no screen image Check if the monitor and the computer are in ON mode.Make sure the signal cable has properly connected the monitor and the computer.Inspect the signal cable and make sure none of the pins are bentConnect the computer with another available monitor to check if the computer is properly working.
Screen image is too light or dark Adjust the Contrast and Brightness settings via OSD.
Screen image bounces or a wave pattern is present in the image Make sure the signal cable is properly connected to the monitor and the computer.Move electrical devices that may cause electrical interference.
