About the Atomic Clock

The National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST) in Fort Collins, Colorado broadcasts the time signal (WWVB at 60kHz AM radio signal) with an accuracy of 1 second per eve1y 3,000 years. The signal will able to cover over a distance up to 2,000 miles fron1 the source. Like a typical AM radio, your Atomic will not able to receive the WWVB signal in places surrounded by heavy concrete or metal panels. The reception of the tune signal is also greatly affected by electrical or electronic interface. To get the best performance of the Atomic clock, please ii1stall the clock nearer to a window and change directions if one direction does not work.

Battery Installation

  1. Turn unit over to remove battery compartment cover. Insert 2 “AA” alkaline batteries.
  2. While the battery co1npa1tme11t cover is off press the “DST” button for 2 seconds to activate Daylight Savings Time. The “DST” icon will appear on the LCD display. In parts of Arizona and Indiana where Daylight Saving Time is not applicable do not turn on. Move on to step 3.
  3. To choose the connect Time Zone continue to press and release the “DST” button until the correct time zone appears on the LCD display.(P, M, C, E)
  4. Close the battery compartment cover.

Desktop Clock Initial Setup and Manual Setup

  1. Press the RCV button for 2 seconds. You will see the radio wave icon start to flash. Your Atomic Desktop Ala1m Clock is searching for the signal. If the full tower icon does not appear and the signal is not automatically available enter the present time and elate by following the manual setup. Once the correct time, day and date are set the atomic clock will verify the connect time 3 times within 24 hours.
  2. Press the SET key for 2 seconds. The 12 / 24 Hr selection 1,vill sta1t to flash. The clock defaults to 12 Hr mode, if you want to choose 24 Hr mode press the UP key once.
  3. Press the SET key once to enter ” Seconds”. Press the UP key to change entry.
  4. Press the SET key once to enter “Hour” selection. Press the UP key to change entry.
  5. Press the SET key once to enter “Minute” selection. Press the UP key to change entry.
  6. Press the SET key once to enter “Year” selection. Press the UP key to change entry.
  7. Press the SET key once to enter “Month” selection. Press the UP key to change entry.
  8. Press the SET key once to enter “Date” selection. Press the UP key to change entry.
  9. The Day feature is programmed based on your previous entry. No adjustment is necessary.
  10. The Atomic Desktop Clock ,will automatically read the ten1perattu·e and will default to Fahrenheit. To change to Celsius press the UP C/F key to toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius.

Your Desktop Atomic Alarm Clock has been set and will operate correctly. Within 24 hours the radio wave signal will be caught and the fill tower icon will appear.

Desktop Alarm Clock Setup

  1. Press the MODE key once to move into the alarm clock setting.
  2. Press the SET key for 2 seconds. The “Hour” selection start to flash. Press the UP C/F key to enter your selection.
  3. Press the SET key to move to the “Minute” selection. Press the UP C/F key to enter your selection.
  4. Press the SET key to confirm you selection.
  5. After you have confirmed your selection and are still in the alarm mode, press the UP C/F key to turn the alarm on. An icon will appear in the upper left hand corner of the LCD display.
  6. The alarm will sound. Hit the Snooze / Light button at the top of the clock to activate snooze. The backlight will appear for 3 seconds andthe snooze function will repeat tl1e alarm in 5 minutes.
  7. To turn the ala1n1 off, press the MODE key and press UP C/F. The alarm icon will disappear.
