5. Operation

5.1 Installation
  1. Scan the QR code below with your device or search for ‘AugustAlink’ to download and install the app from the Google Play or the App Store.
  2. Enable the Wi-Fi on our device and connect to your network.
  3. Turn on the speaker, after 20 seconds ii will enter Wi-Fi mode. ~will flash for 15 seconds when entering Wi-Fi mode. Once in Wi-Fi mode,~ will light green.

Tip: Once in Wi-Fi mode, you can connect the speaker to your Wi-Fi directly from your router, without passing through the application. Press WPS on the speaker then press the bold button on your router. They will establish the connection on their own.

5.2 Connection5.2.1 Wi-Fi Connection (Using the WPS function)

  1.  Turn on the WS350.
  2. Ensure the WS350 is in Wi-Fi mode. The status LED will light green in Wi-Fi mode.
  3. Press the WPS button on the WS350.
  4. Press the WPS button on the router.
  5. The WS350 should connect to the router after about 10 seconds.

Once set up, the WS350’s network will be encrypted and the password of the WS350 will use the same password of your home Wi-Fi.

5.2.2 Wi-Fi Connection (Using the August A/ink App)

  1. Run the application and press ‘Wi-Fi Setup Wizard/ Add Device’.
  2. Confirm your Wi-Fi network’s name and enter its password, then press ‘Next’.
  3. Press WPS button on the WS350, then press ‘Next’.
  4. The application will find the device and setup the Wi-Fi connection. Press ‘Cancel/ Back’ to go back.
  5. Once connected, press ‘Next/ Finish’ to finish.
  6. To add another device, press’+’ on the ‘Device Lisi’ page and repeat steps 2 – 4.

5.2.3 Direct Connection

You can also connect your phone/ tablet directly to the WS350’s Wi-Fi network.

  1.  Turn on the WS350.
  2. Enter the Wi-Fi settings of your device and connect to the WS350’s Wi-Fi network. The Wi-Fi network’s name is ‘WS350_XXXX’.
  3. If the WS350 has not connected to a home Wi-Fi before, then there will be no password for its network. If the WS350 has connected to a home Wi-Fi before, the WS350’snetwork will be encrypted and the password of the WS350 will be the same password of your home Wi-Fi.
  4. Whilst the WS350 is on and in Wi-Fi mode, you can hide its Wi-Fi SSID by using theAugustAlink app.1 ). Go to ‘Device list’.2). Press  (J, to see the available options.3). Enable ‘Hide SSID’.

5.2.4 Bluetooth Connection

  1. Press ‘Mode Switch’ to change between Wi-Fi and Bluetooth mode.
  2. The WS350 will enter reconnection mode and will connect automatically to any previously known device. If no known device is available, the WS350 will automatically enter pairing mode after 4 seconds and will flash blue.
  3. Enable Bluetooth on the source device.
  4. Scan for Bluetooth devices on your source device. Select WS350 to connect to it. Once successfully paired, will light blue.
  5.  To pair to a new device, press and hold the Play/ Pause button for 3 seconds to switch the WS350 into pairing mode again.

Note: When the source device is switched off, the WS350 will enter reconnect mode. 0will flash blue and you will be able to reconnect to any previous paired device.

5.2.5 Ethernet Connection

Connect the Ethernet cable from your router to the LAN socket on the WS350. Once connected, the WS350 will be added to your Wi-Fi network automatically.

5.2.6AUX-IN

Use the provided audio cable to connect your source device to the WS350 Once the audio cable is plugged in, the receiver will enter linein mode automatically and the status LED will light red.

5.3 Multi and Solo Mode (Wi-Fi Connection Only)

The speaker’s playback settings can be changed in the ‘Device List’

Tip: the ‘Device List’ can be accessed from any screen of the app by sliding the screen towards the left.

5.3.1 Solo ModeSolo mode enables multiple speakers connected to the same network to play different music individually. Speakers by default are in solo mode.

5.3.2 Multi ModeMulti mode enables you to group some or all speakers connected on the same network to play the same music. This can be used to separate left and right channels betweenspeakers (Refer 5.4 Speaker Options). To group speakers, press and hold a secondary speaker’s icon and drag it towards the main speaker.To ungroup the speakers, press and hold a secondary speaker’s icon and drag it down past the dotted line on the screen.

5.4 Speaker’s Options (Wi-Fi Connection Only)You can change your speaker’s settings under the ‘DEVICE LIST’.

  1. Press (J, to see available options.
  2. Press ‘Rename’ to change the name of the speaker. Select one available name, then press ‘Finish’ to confirm or press\'<‘ to cancel. You can also customize the speaker’sname by selecting ‘Custom .. .’.
  3. Press ‘Speaker info’ to see the detailed information.■ Enable ‘Hide SSID’ to hide the WS350’s Wi-Fi.■ Select ‘Restore Factory Settings’ to reset the WS350’s WiFi setting.

Tip: Press <L>, <R> or <LR> to change the channel between left, right and stereo for the selected speaker.

5.5 Music Player (Wi-Fi connection Only)

In solo mode, multiple speakers can play different tracks. In multi mode, all speakers within the network will play the same track as the main speaker.To select a music source:

Tip: Different music sources can be accessed from any screen of the app by sliding the screen towards the right.

5.5.1 Local Music■ Press the music icon under the ‘DEVICE LIST’■ Press ‘My Music’ to search for local music.■ Press the device icon to view all the tracks on the device and select one to play.■ User ‘Song’, press 8 to see more options.■ Press ‘Search’ to search local music.

5.5.2 Third party Music Providers

■ Press ‘Settings’ to change the list of music providers.■ Press the icon of a third party music provider to see its options or open the application.

Tip: For albums/ stations, select one of them and to save it to PRESET. You can access preset albums/ stations from ‘Preset Content’ in the speaker’s settings. You can use the preset button on the WS350 to access to the preset station without using the app

5.5.3 Presets

The three preset buttons P1, P2 and P3 can be allocated a quick play in order to access it without the app.Whilst browsing albums or radio stations in the app, to save it to PRESET.

5.6 Music Control

6. Charging

Connect the speaker to a powered USB port by using the provided USB power cable. While charging, 0 will light red and go off once the battery isfully charged.

  • Press and Hold RESET on the speaker to reset to factory setting, then try again.
  Unable to pair myBluetooth sourcedevice
  • Confirm that the speaker is in pairing mode.
  • Confirm that the speaker is within 1 Om of the source device
  • Delete existing connection to speaker from source device and repair.
  • Press and hold the multi-function button for 2 seconds
  Can’t install theBluetooth driverfor the speakeron a computer
  •  For Windows 7 and 8, update the Bluetooth driver from the Bluetooth module manufacturer’s website. For further information on you PCs Bluetooth module, please consult your PC supplier.
  • Bluetooth speaker are not supported by Windows XP and Vista, a third party Bluetooth driver can be used to solve this issue.
  There is no sound
  • Make sure the Bluetooth audio device is  connecting to the speaker via Bluetooth.
  • Check the volume on both source device and your audio device.
   No sound orintermittent soundin Wi-Fi mode.
  • Ensure the Wi-Fi strength is good
  • Reduce the audio quality in the app
  • Reduce the usage of the router

This product is guaranteed for twelve months from the date of the original purchase. In the unlikely event of any defect arising due to faulty materials or workmanship, the unit will be either replaced or repaired free of charge {where possible) during this period. An alternative product will be offered in case the product is no longer available or repairable.
