BAREBACKS CYCLE VISIONS
Read the instructions!
- All Barebacks are designed for OEM saddlebags only
- Installation of your BareBacksÒ is simple.
- These BareBacksÒ kits are made as a matched set….males and females!
- Do not mix them up.
- Lubricate male end with a small amount of Vaseline to facilitate Fitment.
- The male half mounts onto the strut and the female mounts to the bag.
- A qualified technician should perform installation.
Step 1: Remove existing saddlebags and hardware, if equipped.On some models you made need to relocate turn signals!
Step 2: Replace the two bolts on each side of the strut adjacent to the bag mounting holes with the male BareBackÒ. See FIG 1. If using docking hardware, see FIG 2
NOTE: On 06 & UP Dyna’s, install the ¼ inch spacer on the rear male BareBackÒ between the strut and the head of the BareBackÒ See Fig 3. No spacer is required if using docking hardware.
Step 3: Open the saddlebag and install the female BareBackÒ with spring and collar through the mounting holes, holding the BareBackÒ with a 9/16” wrench and securing with the 3/8” washer and nylocs. See Fig 4. Make sure the opening of the “U” shape is pointing down. See Fig 5 NOTE: Flats for wrench are located under the spring. See Fig 4 NOTE: On Deluxe models, remove the lower support arms and discard.
Step 4: On 2000-up Heritage with lower supports, replace rubber isolator with the supplied isolator and pin see Fig 6 & 7. If using detachable sissy bar, add supplied isolator to existing isolator by removing set screw and screwing onto existing isolator stud, see Fig 8.
Step 5: Install docking points and 7/8” spacer from the HD Docking hardware kit (HD P/N 53822-00) as shown in FIG 9
Step 6: Repeat the other side.
To remove bags once barebacks are installed
Pull back spring retainer (see Fig 10) and lift up the rear point first, then the front.
HERITAGE MODELS: Remove the pin first (See Fig 7), then the rear bareback followed by the front.
Important
- Use locktite on everything.
- BareBacksÒ do not work on FXDWG with detachable sissy bar.
- Since BareBacksÒ are made out of stainless steel, you can polish the male side. DO NOT chrome them. It will chip the chrome.
- Bareback Caps are available in Chrome (CV-135) or Black (CV-135B) to cover the male stud when the saddlebags are removed.

Our Warranty Policy
Cycle Visions’ obligation under “Our Warranty Policy” is limited to one (1) year from date of purchase to repair or replacement of the defective item (s). Chrome, polished, powder-coated, anodized finishes, or electrical parts are limited to thirty (30) day from date of purchase.
This warranty will be void on all products that show evidence of misapplication, improper installation, abuse, lack of proper maintenance, negligence, or alteration from their original design.
The consumer will be responsible for removing from the vehicle any defective item (s), transportation costs prepaid and for reinstallation upon return by Cycle Visions. The loss of use of the product, loss of time, inconvenience, commercial loss or consequential damages is not covered. Cycle Visions reserves the right to change the design of any product without assuming any obligation to modify any product previously manufactured. Warranty returns of Cycle Visions products are few because of our high quality products.
Carefully inspect all parts…. If you find that your parts arrived in damaged conditional all original packaging material (box and other materials) must be saved to make a proper damage claim. You must be able to present the damaged boxes and materials to the freight carrier to verify your claim. The user shall assume all legal, personal, injury risk and liability and all other obligations, duties and risks associated therewith.
