IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR CORDLESS HAND VACUUM.

Always connect to a polarized outlet (one slot is wider than the other) for charging. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before conducting maintenance. When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should be observed, including the following:

  • Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts
  • Do not use it outdoors or on wet surfaces.
  • Do not allow it to be used as a toy.
  • Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
  • Do not use for any purpose other than described in this User’s Guide.
  • Use only the manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
  • Do not use with damaged cord or plug.
  • If the appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, have it repaired at an authorized service center.
  • Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
  • Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
  • Do not charge the unit outdoors.
  • Use only the charger supplied by the manufacturer to recharge.
  • Do not incinerate the appliance even if it severely damaged. The batteries can explode in a fire.
  • Do not put any object into the opening.
  • Do not use with any opening blocked.
  • Keep openings free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce airflow
  • Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts.
  • Use extra care when cleaning stairs.
  • Do not pick up flammable materials (lighter fluid, gasoline, kerosene, etc.) or use in the presence of explosive liquids or vapors.
  • Do not pick up toxic material (chlorine bleach, ammonia, drain cleaner, etc.).
  • Do not use vacuum cleaner in an enclosed space filled with vapors given off by oil base paint, paint thinner, some moth-proofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapors.
  • Do not pick up hard or sharp objects such as glass, nails, screws, coins, etc.
  • Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
  • Do not use without dust cup or filters in place.
  • Use only on dry, indoor surfaces.
  • Keep appliance on a level surface.

Assembly

WARNING: Do not plug in your cordless hand vacuum until you are familiar with all instructions and operating procedures.

Your BISSELL cordless hand vacuum does not require any assembly. Charge up to 4 hours before use, or until the Charging and Battery Status Indicator light behavior indicates that the battery is full.

Charging
  1. The charging port is located on the back of the hand vacuum handle. Plug the adapter cord into the opening
  2. Plug the adapter into the wall outlet

NOTE: Check your Charging and Battery Status Indicator to determine the battery status while charging and using.

Using Your Cordless Hand Vacuum

  1. Press the power button to begin cleaning.
  2. To attach any of the included tools, insert the desired tool firmly into the hand vacuum nozzle.

Depending on the model purchased, the tools and accessories included may vary. All tools and accessories for your cordless hand vacuum are available for purchase at www.BISSELL.ca.

The Pet Hair Nozzle has rubberized teeth to pull and lift up embedded hair and dirt.

The Crevice Tool w/ Dusting Brush reaches narrow spaces and is delicate on upholstery.

Maintenance

Emptying the Dirt Cup

WARNINGTo reduce the risk of fi re, electric shock or injury, turn the power OFF and disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet before performing maintenance or troubleshooting.

  1. Make sure the vacuum is OFF by pressing the power button.
  2. Find the dirt cup removal button and press to remove the dirt cup from hand vacuum.
  3. With the dirt cup removed, locate the filter removal tab in the center of the filter assembly. Firmly grasp the tab and turn clockwise to operate the Clean-Turn feature. As you turn the tab, the filter will turn and help clean off excess dirt and debris.
  4. Firmly grasp the tab and pull up to remove the filter from the dirt cup. Empty the dirt cup into a waste receptacle.

WARNING: Do not operate your cordless hand vacuum with damp or wet filters or without filters in place.

Filters

TIP: It may be helpful to turn the filter assembly over and view the underside locking parts before completing steps 1 – 6.underside view of the filter

  1. While holding the tab, remove the filtration assembly from the dirt cup.
  2. Empty the dirt cup into a waste receptacle.
  3. To disassemble for a thorough cleaning, firmly grasp the filter assembly tab with one hand and the mesh filter frame with the other.Turn the tab to the left (counterclockwise) to unlock from the mesh filter frame.
  4. To re-assemble the filter, insert the pleated filter into the mesh filter frame.
  5. While firmly holding the mesh filter frame, turn the tab to the right (clockwise) to lock the pieces together.

NOTE: You may rinse the filter and frame in warm water to clean. The filter and frame need to be 100% dry before reuse. The key to maximum performance is having a clean filter. Cleaning the filter after each use will help your vacuum operate at peak efficiency.

Disposal of Batteries

WARNING: This product contains Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries. According to Federal and State regulations, removal and proper disposal of Lithium Ion batteries is required. For removal of the batteries in your Bolt Lithium.

NOTICE: Disconnecting the battery will destroy the appliance and invalidate the warranty.

NOTE: If your cordless hand vacuum is to be disposed of, the batteries should be removed and disposed of properly

  • Unplug the charger.
  • Remove hand vac from the unit and remove dirt cup from the handle.
  • Remove (2) Phillips head screws and remove the lens from the hand vacuum.
  • Remove (2) Phillips head screws from the hand vacuum cover.
  • Liftoff the hand vacuum cover and take out the pushrod.
  • Remove (5) Phillips head screws from the side of the hand vacuum.
  • Remove the entire battery assembly from the cover.
  • Cut wires from the PCB and wrap the wire ends with insulation tape.
  • Keep Battery Pack together – DO NOT separate individual batteries.

  • Discard the remainder of the product.

Troubleshooting

WARNING To reduce the risk of fi re, electric shock or injury, turn the power OFF and disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet before performing maintenance or troubleshooting.
