CHAPTER 2: OVERVIEW

2.1 INTRODUCTION

The 2-Port 4K HDMI Dual-head KVM Switch allows the control of two computers with 4K dual HDMI video output via a single console set of USB keyboard/mouse/hub, microphone, speaker, and display. The 2-Port 4K HDMI Dual-head KVM Switch has built-in USB 3.2 Gen 1 compliant and 3.5-mm mini stereo ports that allow sharing of USB keyboard/mouse/hub, speaker, and microphone among the connected computers. Switch between the connected computers using the front-panel pushbutton or keyboard hotkey commands. The switch includes a USB-C interface for high-speed data transfer/high-speed peripherals. Product setup is quick and simple with no software to install, so you’re ready to go right out of the box.

2.4 HARDWARE DESCRIPTION

Figure 2-1 shows the front panel of the KVM switch. Figure 2-2 shows the back panel. Tables 2-1 and 2-2 describe the components.

CHAPTER 3: INSTALLATION

3.1 INSTALLATION STEPS

Refer to the following diagrams and steps to set up your KVM switch installation.

3.1.1 CONSOLE SIDE

  1. Connect HDMI monitors to the “HDMI Out” console ports on the front panel of the KVM switch.
  2. Connect your USB keyboard and USB mouse directly to the USB keyboard and mouse ports on the front panel of the KVM switch.
  3. Connect the microphone and speaker to the corresponding 3.5 mm Mini Stereo console jacks on the front panel of the KVM switch.
  4. Connect your USB devices into the USB ports. (Optional)

CHAPTER 3: INSTALLATION

3.1.2 PC SIDE

  1. Be prepared with the related cables, plug the DisplayPort/HDMI, USB, microphone, and speaker connectors into their corresponding sockets on the back panel of the KVM switch
  2. At the other end of the cable set, plug the DisplayPort/HDMI, USB, microphone, and speaker connectors into their respective ports on the first computer (PC-1).
  3. Repeat above steps to add the second computer (PC-2).
  4. Connect the power supply to the KVM switch, and then plug it into an appropriate power source.
  5. Turn on the power to all connected devices.

CHAPTER 4: OPERATION

There are two ways to access computers and devices connected to the KVM switch:

  • Manual Pushbutton
  • Hotkeys
4.1.1 MANUAL PUSHBUTTON

Press the pushbutton once, switching the selected PC port among the two connected computers cyclically.

4.1.2 HOTKEY COMMANDS

Hotkey commands are executed using only the keyboard.The following procedure describes the hotkey functionality availability.Hotkey Execution Procedure

  1. Press the [Scroll Lock] key twice continuously to enter Hotkey mode. While in Hotkey mode, the Scroll Lock LED of the keyboard flashes continuously. When entering or exiting from Hotkey mode, the buzzer of the KVM switch beeps.
  2. Press the [Scroll Lock] key twice continuously within 5 seconds.
  3. Key in the hotkey command within 10 seconds, or it will be aborted if the time exceeds 10 seconds.
