By following the basic procedures listed below you will have a trouble-free Christmas with your Christmas tree.The Smart StandTM Christmas tree stand can be used for trees with a maximum height of 9 ft. (2.7 meters) and with a max trunk diameter of 4.2 in (10.66 cm). The stand is only suitable for indoor use. The insertion of the tree and the handling of the stand should only be carried out by adults.The Christmas tree must be cut horizontally (square cut) and 8 in (20 cm) of the lower part of the trunk must be clean of branches before insertion into the stand. The stand should be placed on a protective floor covering. Before you insert the tree make sure that the fastening device is placed in the START position – as illustrated. The spring holders are fitted with protective caps in order to prevent injury from the sharp edges of the spring. These protection caps must be removed before you start using the stand.If the fastening device is not in the START position, the spring holders must be tilted inwards, and together with the movable ring (to which they are connected) be turned clockwise, until they are in the START position. In handling the spring holders make sure only to touch the plastic part to avoid injury. Insert the tree into the stand until just above the spike, which is placed in the bottom of the water reservoir. Adjust the vertical position of the tree. Raise the tree 1-1.5 in (2.5-3.5 cm).Push the tree forcefully into the Smart StandTM, thus ensuring that the spike penetrates the base of the tree trunk. After erecting the Christmas tree fill up the water reservoir. The reservoir will hold up to 415 liters of water. Fill regularly to ensure that your tree stays fresh over the festive period. Do not overfill. After Christmas, removing the stand is a very simple procedure. Hold the tree with one hand, place your foot on the groove at the base of the stand. (See illustration.) Turn the tree anti-clockwise as indicated by the arrow (OPEN). This will release the fastening springs from the tree. You can now simply remove the tree from the stand by lifting vertically. The stand can be cleaned by simply using a mild household detergent.IMPORTANT: Should the above instructions not be followed the guarantee will become invalid.
