IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:

  • Always ensure that the voltage on the rating label corresponds to the mains voltage in your home.
  • Incorrect operation and improper use can damage the appliance and cause injury to the user.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance should not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
  • Check the power cord and plug regularly for any damage. If the cord or the plug is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or qualified person in order to avoid an electrical hazard.
  • Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or damaged in any way.
  • Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.

  • Your appliance must not be switched on through an external timer or any kind of separate remote control system.
  • Do not position the appliance in direct sunlight or any sources of heat, do not operate for extended periods in confined, poorly ventilated areas.
  • Car use: When using in a car the appliance should be kept upright at all times. Also ensure that it is placed in a safe area in the vehicle i.e. not placed on a seat during a journey as this may cause a hazard during sudden breaking etc.
  • Be aware that if this unit is kept operating on a vehicle battery when the engine is not running for more than a few hours, you may have difficulty starting your engine.
  • You should not operate this appliance in an enclosed boot space as there may be a build-up of heat. Also ensure that any vents are not obstructed if the appliance is packed amongst items of luggage.

USING YOUR PORTABLE FRIDGE Remove all

packaging materials including those that may be inside the fridge.

Before plugging in the fridge, make sure the switch on the back is set to the OFF position.

There are two power inlet connections; one for the DC car adaptor and one for the AC mains lead.

NOTE: When using in the car, turn the car on before plugging in the fridge to avoid a power surge that could result in overheating.

Insert the 12V car adaptor or mains lead into the fridge.The switch has three functions:

  • Up for COLD. The light will illuminate green.
  • Middle to turn OFF
  • Down for WARM. The light will illuminate red. Ensure that the switch is in the correction position.     When using as a food warmer, set the operating mode to Warm. This fridge is not designed to heat food from cold, only keep food warm which is already hot. Do not use this fridge to heat up food, it will take too long and may cause the possibility of food poisoning. Food should also not be kept warm in this unit for more than 2 hours.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning, switch off the fridge, unplug from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely if it has been set to WARM function.

  •  Clean the fridge with a damp cloth with a mild detergent and then polish with a soft dry cloth.
  • Do not use steel wool pads or harsh/abrasive cleaners.

ELECTRICAL INFORMATION

(Power adapters only)Never open the power adapter, you risk getting an electric shock. Only use the power adapter that is supplied with your product.You must always connect the power adapter to the product before connecting to the mains power supply.The power adapter must be used indoors only, and must not be subjected to damp conditions.The power adapter does not have any user serviceable parts.

2-CORE PLUG

WARNING:Do not connect either wire to the earth terminal. This symbol indicates that this 2-core appliance is Class II and does not require an earth connection. The wire coloured blue must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured black. The wire coloured brown must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured red.

3-CORE PLUG

WARNING:  This appliance must be earthed. The wire coloured green and yellow must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter E, or by the earth symbol, or coloured green or green and yellow. The wire coloured blue must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured black. The wire coloured brown must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured red.
