Safety Tips

- DO NOT immerse the appliance in water.
- DO NOT clean with jet/pressure washers.
- Not suitable for outdoor use.
- DO NOT bypass the safety interlocks.
- Always switch off and disconnect the power supply to the appliance before cleaning.
- DO NOT look directly at the lamp.
- This appliance must only be used in accordance with these instructions and by persons competent to do so.
- Keep all packaging away from children. Dispose of the packaging in accordance with the regulations of local authorities.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a BUFFALO agent or a recommended qualified technician in order to avoid a hazard.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- BUFFALO recommends that this appliance should be periodically tested (at least annually) by a Competent Person. Testing should include, but not be limited to Visual Inspection, Polarity Test, Earth Continuity, Insulation Continuity, and Functional Testing.
- BUFFALO recommends that this product be connected to a circuit protected by an appropriate RCD (Residual Current Device).

DB162 – Knife Steriliser
Introduction
Please take a few moments to carefully read through this manual. Correct maintenance and operation of this machine will provide the best possible performance from your BUFFALO product.

- Instruction manualBUFFALO prides itself on quality and service, ensuring that at the time of packaging the contents are supplied fully functional and free of damage.Should you find any damage as a result of transit, please contact your BUFFALO dealer immediately.
Installation
- Ensure you have adequate support to support the appliance and proceed to drill and install the fixing screws.
- Once the screws are installed, locate the appliance on the wall by aligning the locating holes on the backplate with the screws.
Warning: Ensure the substrate and fixings used to mount the Knife Steriliser are suitable to support the weight of the loaded unit.If necessary, seek professional help to ensure the shelf is safely mounted.
Operation
- Open the door, and put the Knives in the basket (Knives should be washed and dried before placing inside the sterilizer). Ensure that the knives are held in the rack with the blade facing upwards and angled towards the back of the unit. The handle of the knife should be resting on the floor of the unit behind the front lip.
- Close the door.
- Connect the appliance to the suitable mains supply and turn on the power supply.
- There are 2 methods of operating the Knife Steriliser:Turn the timer dial to the” ON” position – the lamp will continue to operate until the door is opened or the timer is returned to the “OFF” position (Note: 120 minutes is the time required to ensure sterilization).To use the timer function rotate the dial to the 120-minute position. The unit will then operate for 120 minutes (Note: 120 minutes is the time required to ensure sterilization).
- A safety switch turns off the lamp when the door is opened.
- DO NOT look directly at the lamp.
Cleaning, Care & Maintenance
- Always turn OFF the appliance and disconnect from the power supply before cleaning.
- Warm soapy water is recommended for cleaning. Cleaning agents may cause damage or leave harmful residues when used for a prolonged period on stainless steel.
- Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
- A BUFFALO dealer or qualified technician should carry out repairs if required.
