Safety Tips

  • DO NOT immerse the appliance in water.

  • DO NOT operate the appliance without water in the outer container.
  • Keep the lid closed when not serving.
  • Suitable for indoor use only.
  • Always switch off and  disconnect the power supply to the appliance when not in use.
  • This appliance must only be used in accordance with these instructions and by persons competent to do so.
  • Keep all packaging away from children. Dispose of the packaging in accordance to the regulations of local authorities.
  • If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an BUFFALO agent or a recommended qualified technician in order to avoid a hazard.

  • BUFFALO recommend that this appliance should be periodically tested (at least annually) by a Competent Person. Testing should include, but not be limited to: Visual Inspection, Polarity Test, Earth Continuity, Insulation Continuity and Functional Testing.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack  of experience or knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Should you find any damage as a result of transit, please contact your BUFFALO dealer immediately.

Installation

Remove all packaging and dispose of safely. Wash Liner, Top Ring and Lid in warm soapy water, rinse in clean water then dry thoroughly.

Operation

  1. Connect the appliance to the mains power supply.
  2. Partly fill the Body with water (water level should be between the Min and Max fill lines).
  3. Place the metal collar on the body of the kettle, then place the inner liner inside the Body of the soup kettle (The inner liner should sit on top of the metal collar).
  4. Pour the hot soup or food in to the Liner, then position the Lid on the Top Ring.
  5. Switch on electricity at socket.
  6. Start heating by rotating the control knob clockwise, indicator light will come on and stay on until selected temperature is reached.Power will come on to start heating again when the temperature of the kettle falls.
  7. To turn the appliance Off, set the Temperature Control to ‘0’.

WARNING: Never move or carry the appliance when it is switched on or contains hot liquid.

Cleaning, Care & Maintenance

  • Disconnect from electricity supply, allow to cool before emptying the water from the Body, always use fresh water when the kettle is to be used.
  • Always wash the Kettle Liner, Top Ring and Lid after every use. Wipe both exterior and interior of the Body to remove any food residues, do not immerse the Body in water or clean with a pressure washer.
  • Dry thoroughly after cleaning.

De-scalingIn hard water areas lime scale can build up within the appliance after prolonged use. For best taste and extended appliance life, de-scale it regularly. Installation of a water filtration system is also recommended.To de-scale the appliance.

  1. Remove the lid and inner container first.
  2. Pour a solution of de-scaler and water into the outer container.
  3. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the de-scale solution with reference to the length of time required to soak, agitation, water temperature and on how to dispose of the solution safely.
  4. Fill the outer container with clean water and turn the appliance On to flush out the system. Flush out the system thoroughly to remove any de-scaler residue.
  5. The appliance is now ready for use.

Note: Use a suitable de-scaler and always follow the manufacturer’sinstructions.BUFFALO recommend that this appliance is de-scaled every 3 months or more frequently in hard water areas.IMPORTANT: Failure to de-scale or maintain will invalidate your guarantee.

Electrical Wiring

This appliance is supplied with a 3 pin BS1363 plug and lead.

The plug is to be connected to a suitable mains socket.

This appliance is wired as follows:

  • Live wire (coloured brown) to terminal marked L
  • Neutral wire (coloured blue) to terminal marked N
  • Earth wire (coloured green/yellow) to terminal marked E

This appliance must be earthed.

If in doubt consult a qualified electrician.

Electrical isolation points must be kept clear of any obstructions. In the event of any emergency disconnection being required they must be readily accessible.
