IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USINGWhen using any electrical appliance, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be taken to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury, including the following:
- Never leave unattended while cooking to avoid the possibility of fire.
- This appliance is intended for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY and similar applications such as:– staff kitchen areas in shops, offices & other working environments;– farmhouses;– clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments;– bed and breakfast settings
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack experience and knowledge unless they have been given instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- To ensure no possible accidental injury occurs, when infirmed persons (including children) are near the appliance, they must be closely supervised.
- Children should always be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- Use only on an appropriate benchtop & indoors only, sitting away from flammable materials such as curtains, draperies and walls of similar nature as a fire may occur if comes in contact or becomes covered during operation.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas, electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended use.
- This appliance is under 220V~240V use only. Check voltage to be sure the voltage indicated on the nameplate agrees with your voltage.
- Always attach the plug to the unit first, then plug the cord to the wall outlet. To safely disconnect, press the button “ON/OFF” and remove the plug from the electrical outlet.
- To avoid the possibility of the unit being accidentally pulled off the working area, which could result in damage to the unit or personal injury, do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or benchtop.
- To avoid damage to the cord and possible fire or electrocution hazard, do not let the cord come into contact with any hot surfaces including a stovetop.
- Do not operate this appliance if it has been dropped or damaged (including the cord)in any manner or is not operating correctly. Return the appliance to the nearest Cuisinart Repair Centre for examination, repair, electrical or mechanical adjustment.
- Do not operate this appliance in an appliance cabinet or under a wall cabinet. When storing in an appliance cabinet, always unplug the unit from the electricaloutlet. Not doing so could create a risk of fire, especially if the unit is in contact with the walls of any cabinetry or on closing the cabinet door and touching the unit.
- Extreme caution must be used when moving the slow cooker containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
- Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as adding refrigerated foods to a heated pot.
- To disconnect, press the ON/OFF button, and then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
- Never try to override or tamper with the cover interlock mechanism.
- Always unplug from the electrical outlet when not in use before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning.
- The use of attachments not recommended by Cuisinart may be hazardous.
- This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
- At no time, before or during cooking and cleaning immerse unit, plug or cord in water, or any other liquids similarly under running water too – this is to protect against the starting of fire and electric shock that could induce injury to persons. If the unit, plug, or cord should fall into the water or other liquids,
- unplug the cord from the electrical output immediately. DO NOT reach into the water.
- Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts, involving a risk of electric shock.
- While cleaning does not try to dislodge any food when the unit is plugged in. Always unplug the unit when cleaning.
CAUTION
- To reduce the risk of electric shock, cook only in the ceramic pot provided or place a cooking rack inside the ceramic pot. Do not use metal containers.
- A heated ceramic pot may damage benchtops or tables. When removing the hot ceramic pot from the slow cooker, DO NOT place it directly on any unprotected surface. Always set the hot pot on a trivet or a rack.
SPECIAL CORD SET INSTRUCTIONS
- A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the extension cord must be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over unintentionally or pulled on by children.
UNPACKING INSTRUCTIONS
INSTRUCTIONS
- Place the box on a large, sturdy, flat surface.
- Open the box and remove any other literature.
- Lift the packing materials, slow cooker, and accessories out of the box.
- Remove all other parts packed in pulp mold and remove packing materials surrounding those parts. Be sure to check all packing materials for all parts listed in the Parts & Features section on page 4 before discarding.
- Remove any protective or promotional labels from your Flavour Savour Slow Cooker and other parts.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE THE FIRST USE
Before using your Flavour Savour Slow Cooker for the first time, remove any dust from shipping by wiping the unit and controls with a damp cloth. Thoroughly clean the the ceramic pot and glass lid with hot sudsy water. (see Cleaning & Maintenance instructions on page 6).Do not use on heat-sensitive surfaces or store items on top of the Flavour Savour Slow Cooker.
ENSURE THE EXTERIOR WALLS OF YOUR FLAVOUR SAVOUR SLOW COOKER IS NOT WITHIN 15CM CONTACT OF ANY OTHER PARAPHERNALIA.

QUICK TIPS GUIDE
Three cooking settings are available to prepare a wide variety of flavourful slow-cooked dishes. You can adapt many recipes to slow down cooking times, or speed it up; select what suits you and coordinate delicious meals to your timetable. If you’re starting a dish later in the day, select the HIGH setting to ensure your food is cooked, warm, and ready when you’d like to serve, or alternatively select the LOW or SIMMER setting for recipes that take longer to cook.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
- Always use the slow cooker on a dry, level work surface.
- Place the ceramic pot in the housing base and fill with ingredients.
- Fit the lid on the ceramic pot and plug in the slow cooker. There will be no power until it is turned on.
- To turn it on and get cooking, press the ON/ OFF button. The button will illuminate red and will sound one beep. The Clock on the LCD display will flash (:).
- Select your desired cooking time up to 24 hours in 30-minute increments. Press and hold the “+” to increase the time or “-” to decrease time (to reset time to 00:00, simultaneously press and hold both “+” and “-” then repeat the first part of step 5. to your new desired time. NB: If no timer is set in conjunction with a cooking set, the selected cooking setting will default to 24 hours.
- After setting the timer, the LCD display and ON/OFF button will flash until HIGH, LOW, SIMMER, or WARM is selected – the unit will beep once and the blue indicator next to the setting selected will illuminate and any flashing will become solid. NB: The cooking mode can be overridden by pressing any other setting buttons.
- Once the cooking time has expired, the unit will automatically switch to the WARM setting. The blue indicator light is next to WARM and will illuminate. The unit will remain on WARM for 8 hours maximum (this time can be adjusted at any time). When the WARM time expires, the unit will beep for 5 seconds and automatically turn off.
- To turn the slow cooker off manually, press the ON/OFF button.
- Lift ceramic pot carefully, using potholders.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
- When not in use, leave unplugged.
- Allow cooling before cleaning.
- All parts except the housing base are dishwasher safe; ceramic pot, lid, and rack. Alternatively, wash with warm sudsy water. Iffood is stuck to the surface, fill the ceramic pot with warm soapy water and allow it to soak before cleaning.
- If scouring is necessary, use a non-abrasive cleanser or liquid detergent with a nylon pad or brush.
- The housing base may be wiped clean with a sudsy, non-abrasive cloth, or sponge. Be sure to dry it thoroughly.
- If the feet leave spots wipe the area with a damp sponge and nonabrasive cleaning detergent.
- IMPORTANT: To prevent damage to the appliance do not use alkaline cleaning agents when cleaning.
- Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.
