BEFORE USING THE DEVICE, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY AND CAREFULLY. CORRECT APPLICATION IS VITAL TO THE PROPER FUNCTIONING OF THE DEVICE.

INTENDED USER PROFILE:The intended use should be a licensed medical professional, the patient, the patient’s caretaker, or a family member providing assistance. The user should be able to read, understand and be physically capable to perform all the directions, warnings, and cautions provided in the information for use.

INTENDED USE/INDICATIONS:For mild to moderate patella subluxation, mal-tracking, and patella arthritis, and medial/lateral stability, post-arthroscopic meniscectomyand mild global instabilities. Soft-good/semi-rigid designed to restrict motion through elastic or semi-rigid construction.CONTRAINDICATIONS: Do not use if you are allergic to any of the materials contained in this product.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:

  • If pain, swelling, changes in sensation, or other unusual reactions occur while using this product, you should contact your doctor immediately.
  • Do not use over open wounds.
  • Do not use this device if it was damaged and/or the package has been opened.

NOTE: Contact manufacturer and the competent authority in case of a serious incident arising due to usage of this device.APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:Note: Apply while seated at the end of a chair with leg at full extension and heel on the floor, toe pointing up and quadriceps muscles relaxed.Step 1:Slide leg through the sleeve and pull up into position on the leg so that the patella opening is aligned off-center to the lateral (outside) side of the knee. This will allow the buttress to come in direct contact with the lateral edge of the patella. (Fig. 1)Step 2Ensuring that the buttress is against the skin and lined up on the lateral edge of the patella, wrap the bottom strap around the calf affixing the strap to the hook and loop closures. Follow the same procedure for the top strap. (Fig. 2 & 3)

  •  For additional pull on the patella, you can pull both straps at the same time and affix them to the hook and loop.
  • The desired amount of pull on the patella can be regulated by the amount of tension on the straps.
  • Strap length can be adjusted by releasing the strap end from the back of the strap and adjusting to the desired length. (Fig. 4)
  • Hinges can be removed from their stay casing by slipping them through the slot on the inside top portion of the hinge casing (Fig. 5 & 6)
