BEFORE USING THE DEVICE, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY AND CAREFULLY. CORRECT APPLICATION IS VITAL TO THEPROPER FUNCTIONING OF THE DEVICE

INDICATIONS: Provides cold therapy and/or immobilization and controlled range-of-motion, post-injury and post-operatively.

INSTRUCTIONS:

For Immobilization:
  1. Unfasten torso strap where the “injured side” logos meet. Adjust the two overlapping pieces of the torso strap for desired fit. Wrap torso strap around chest so that the “injured side” labels are positioned under the affected The Dura Soft Immobile Icer is a universal fit for both left and right shoulders, so the L label should be positioned in the front of the body for a left side affectedshoulder and the R label in the front for a right side affected shoulder. Ensure the velcro tabs sit above the R and L labels and that the velcro hook side is facing outward. (Figure 1)                    Figure 1
  1. Attach abduction spint to the torso strap under affected arm. Secure strap around the arm and adjust circumference for desired fit. (Figure 2)                    Figure 2
  2. Place ice insert into mesh pocket of the shoulder pad and secure. Please Ice pack over affected shoulder and attach velcro tabs to the respective torso strap (Figure 3) if user immobilizer without ice packs, fold down exposed velcro tabs                    Figure 3on the torso strap. The tabs should be applied with enough stretch to keep wrap in place and provide desired compression. Duration of application shall be in accordance with a medical professional.
  3. As needed, apply wrist splint by attaching hook velcro on wrist splint to front of torso strap.                 Figure 4

FOR COLD THERAPY:

  1. FREEZING: Place gel inserts in the re-sealable bag. Place re-sealable bag with inserts in freezer until the gel inserts is frozen
  2. PRE-APPLICATION: remove the gel inserts from the re-sealable Place gel insert(s) in Dura Soft Immobile Icer wrap.
  3. APPLICATION: Apply wrap to area of treatment by attaching hook or velcro fastener to outer wrap fabric. The straps should be applied with enough stretch to keep wrap in place and provide desired
  4. CONTINUOUS TREATMENT: when insert(s) no longer deliver desired treatment, remove insert(s) from wrap and exchange gel insert(s) in re-sealable Repeat step 3) Application.
  5. REUSE: wrap or inserts may be used again by repeating steps 1) through 4).

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Sickle-cell Anemia, Raynaud’s or other vasospastic diseases, cold allergy, cold hypersensitivity, previous cold injury, or any compromised local circulation, decreased skin sensitivity, hypertension, paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria, and cryoglobulinemia.

PRECAUTIONS:

  • If the effect and duration of cold therapy is unknown consult a physician before
  • Any cold products may cause injuries, g. Blister, frostbite, and skin or tissue necrosis if improperly used.
  • Extreme care must be taken when using any cold or heat therapy, especially for Children, Elderly, diabetics, unconscious or incapacitated patients, those with decreased skin sensitivity, or poor circulation due to cardiovascular diseases, medications, tobacco and alcohol
  • If redness, numbness, burning, pain, tingling sensation increases, or unusual reaction like burns, blisters, discoloration, swelling, or other reaction in skin appearance occurs while using this product, consult a physician

WARNING:

  • Neoprene wrap should not be worn by individuals with known susceptibility to dermatitis or allergies to neoprene by-products.
