Function description
The cooler can chill products, keep them cool as well as freeze them. A maintenance-free, CFC-free refrigerant circuit with a compressor provides the cooling. The extra strong CFC-free insulation and powerful compressor ensure especially fast cooling. The cooler is designed for mobile use.The cooler can withstand a short-term inclination of 30°, for example on boats.
Scope of functions
- Three-level battery monitor to protect the vehicle battery switches off automatically at low battery voltage
- Display with the temperature gauge in °C and °F
- Temperature setting: With two buttons in steps of 1 °C (2 °F)
- Display dimming function with 3 brightness levels
- Integrated handles
- Seat belt fixation

Operation
Before initial use
Saving energy
- Choose a well-ventilated location that is protected from direct sunlight.
- Allow warm food to cool down first before placing it in the cooling device to keep cool.
- Do not open the cooling device more often than necessary.
- Do not leave the cooling device open for longer than necessary.
- If the cooler has a basket: For optimal energy consumption, position the basket according to its position on delivery.
- On a regular basis, make sure the lid seal still fits properly.
Opening or removing the lid
➤ Proceed as shown (fig. 4, page 4).
Connecting the cooler
- Connect the device with the supplied DC cable only.
- Do not modify the DC cable. Modifying the DC cable may cause safety risks.
- The DC cable must always be protected by 8 A fuse.
Using the cooler
- Locking the cooler: fig. 6 1, page 5
- Switching on the cooler: fig. 7, page 5
- Switching off the cooler: fig. 8, page 6
Fixing the cooler while transporting
When transporting the cooler in a vehicle, you can fix the device with the safety seat belt or with luggage tighteners so that it remains in its position.
Fixing with the safety seat belt➤ Proceed as shown (fig. 9, page 7).Fixing with luggage tighteners➤ Proceed as shown (fig. 10, page 8).
Selecting the temperature unit
➤ Proceed as shown (fig.11, page 8).
Setting the temperature
➤ Proceed as shown (fig. 12, page 8).
Setting the display‘s brightness
➤ Proceed as shown (fig. c, page 9).
- The factory setting of the brightness of the display is d0 (default).
- If a fault occurs, the brightness automatically reverts to brightness d0 (default). After troubleshooting the set brightness is reactivated.
Using the battery monitor
If the cooler is operated when the vehicle ignition is switched off, the cooker switches off automatically as soon as the supply voltage falls below a set level. The cooler will switch back on once the battery has been recharged to the restart voltage level.
Battery monitor mode | LOW | MED | HIGH |
The switch-off voltage at 12 V | 10.1 V | 11.4V | 11.8 V |
Restart voltage at 12 V | 11.1V | 12.2 V | 12.6 V |
The switch-off voltage at 24 V | 21.5 V | 24.1V | 24.6V |
Restart voltage at 24 V | 23.0V | 25.3V | 26.2 V |
Defrosting the cooler
Humidity can form frost in the interior of the cooling device or on the vaporizer. This reduces the cooling capacity. Defrost the device in good time to avoid this.
To defrost the cooler, proceed as follows:➤ Take out the contents of the cooling device.➤ If necessary, place them in another cooling device to keep them cool➤ Switch off the device.➤ Leave the cover open.➤ Wipe off the defrosted water.
Replacing the plug fuse (12/24 V)
➤ Replace the defective fuse with a new fuse of the same type and rating.➤ Proceed as shown (fig. e, page 11).
Replacing the light PCB
Cleaning and maintenance
- Never clean the cooler under running water or in dishwater.
- Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or hard objects during cleaning as these can damage the cooler.
➤ Occasionally clean the device’s interior and exterior with a damp cloth.➤ Make sure that the air inlet and outlet vents on the device are free of any dust and dirt, so that heat can be released and the device is not damaged.
Troubleshooting
Fault | Possible cause | Suggested remedy |
When operating from the DC power socket: Device does not function, LED does not glow. | No voltage is flowing from the DC powersocket in your vehicle. | The ignition must be switched on in most vehicles to supply current to the DC power socket. |
The device does not cool (plug is inserted, POWER LED is lit). | Defective compressor. | This can only be repaired by an authorized repair center. |
The device does not cool (plug is inserted, ERROR LED flashes). | The battery voltage is too low. | Test the battery and charge it as needed. |
Fault | Possible cause | Suggested remedy |
When operating from the DC power socket:The ignition is on and the device is not working and the LED is not lit. Pull the plug out of the socket and make the following checks. | The DC socket is dirty. This results in a poorelectrical contact. | If the plug of your cooler becomes very warm in the DC socket, either the socket must be cleaned or the plug has not been assembled correctly. |
The fuse of the 12/24 Vplug has blown. | Replace the fuse in the 12 V plug, see chapter “Replacing the plug fuse (12/24 V)” on page 21.
The vehicle fuse has blown. | Replace the vehicle’s 12/24 V socket fuse (usually 15 A). Please refer to your vehicle’s operating manual.
ERROR LED flashes for longer than 2 minutes,as follows: 3 flashes, pause, 3 flashes, pause, … | Defective device. | This can only be repaired by an authorized repair center. |
