EARTHQUAKE ROUGH-IN Speaker Kit Installation Guide

EARTHQUAKE ROUGH-IN Speaker Kit

Earthquake Sound’s RK-C6 and RK-C8 offer extreme versatility for the installation of all 6.S- ands- ceiling speakers. Each rough-in kit is designed to expedite home audio installation during new construction with guaranteed customer satisfaction. Straightforward installation is made possible with the extended aluminum mounting wings and ring brackets. The ring brackets provide the installer 360 degrees of positing for versatility. The perforated anti-rust aluminum wings can be trimmed to a desired length and easily securely fastened with staples, nails, and screws right into ceiling joists providing a reliable setup within a matter of minutes.

INSTALLATION

  1. Select the speaker mounting location and route speaker wire to the mounting location.
  2. Attach two metal mesh wings to the plastic speaker mounting ring.
  3. Mount the assembled RK-C6/C8 in the desired location across ceiling joists using either screws, nails, or staples so that the ring bracket and wings are positioned between the drywall and wall framing.
  4. The RK-C6/C8 has a lip on the front of the mounting ring bracket. Make sure that all mounting rings are facing downward towards the floor prior to cutting holes in drywall for your speaker installation.
  5. After fastening the RK-C6 /8 to ceiling joists, run speaker wires through the cable tie located on the mounting ring bracket. Your speaker is now ready to be installed into the RK-C6/C8 cutout hole.
  6. Be sure to follow the installation instructions included with your architectural speakers.
