OPERATION
FOOD PLACEMENT & POSITIONING
Always assemble your spit rod from right to left starting with the first meat claw that will be closest to the motor (claw towards the food). Skewer the meat with the spit rod followed by the 2nd meat claw. Firmly push the meat claws together into the ends of the meat. Position the clawed meat-centered and as evenly balanced across the spit rod as possible. Lock the meat into place by fastening the wing nuts on the meat claws. Make sure to secure any loose parts of the meat with butcher’s string to prevent it from hitting the grates and disrupting the rotation of the spit. Slide on the counterbalance, then attach and secure the spit collar onto the left side end of the spit rod. Finally, insert the spit rod through the grill wall into the motor assembly and rest the collar on the spit rod mount on the left side of the grill.
COUNTERBALANCEPlug in the rotisserie and flip on the power switch on the motor. If the rotisserie is not tuming smoothly, the meat is not properly balanced. Tum off the motor and slide the spit rod slightly out of the motor assembly. Holding the right side of the spit rod in your hand, let it rotate freely. The heaviest part of the meat will naturally rotate downward. Adjust the counterbalance so that it stands upward, opposite of the heaviest side. Once the meat is balanced, insert the spit rod securely back into the motor assembly and turn it on to ensure an evenly balanced rotation. This may take a couple times to find the perfect balance.NOTE: The meat can slightly change throughout the cook, causing the rotisserie to become unbalanced, and/or parts of the meat to separate from the claws and hit the grates. All of which can disrupt the rotation. It is always important to periodically check the meat and adjust the meat claws and counterbalance accordingly.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
ALWAYS turn off and unplug the rotisserie before cleaning.ALWAYS wash & clean the spit rod and meat claws after every use.NEVER immerse the motor or power cord in water.
