ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY(Valid in USA only)HoMedics, Inc., guarantees this product free from defects in materialand workmanship for a period of one year from the date of originalpurchase, except as noted below.

This HoMedics product warranty does not cover damage caused bymisuse or abuse; accident; the attachment of any unauthorizedaccessory; alteration to the product; or any other conditions whatsoeverthat are beyond the control of HoMedics. This warranty is effectiveonly if the product is purchased and operated in the USA. A productthat requires modification or adaptation to enable it to operate in anycountry other than the country for which it was designed, manufactured,approved and/or authorized, or repair of products damaged bythese modifications is not covered under warranty. HoMedics shall notbe responsible for any type of incidental, consequential or specialdamages. All implied warranties, including but not limited to thoseimplied warranties of fitness and merchantability, are limited in the totalduration of one year from the original purchase date.

To obtain warranty service on your HoMedics product, either handdeliver or mail the unit and your dated sales receipt (as proof ofpurchase), postpaid, along with check or money order in the amountof $5.00 payable to HoMedics, Inc. to cover handling.

Upon receipt, HoMedics will repair or replace, as appropriate, yourproduct and return it to you, postpaid. If it is appropriate to replaceyour product, HoMedics will replace the product with the same productor a comparable product at HoMedics’ option. Warranty is solelythrough HoMedics Service Center. Service of this product by anyoneother than HoMedics Service Center voids warranty.

This warranty provides you with specific legal rights. You may haveadditional rights which may vary from state to state. Because ofindividual state regulations, some of the above limitations andexclusions may not apply to you.

Note: When the rechargeable cells are running empty, the toothbrush automatically turns off. This protects the rechargeable cells from deep discharging and signals that the power unit should be charged.

CHARGING INSTRUCTIONSFollow this procedure before you useSoniDent for the first time.To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliancehas a polarized plug (one blade is widerthan the other). This plug will fit in a polarizedoutlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fullyin the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does notfit, contact a qualified electrician to install theproper outlet. Do not change the plug in anyway.1. Plug the charger base into a 120-volt outlet. Place the SoniDent handle into the baseand allow it to charge for at least 16 hours before using it for the first time.2. The charger indicator light on the handle will glow red when the toothbrush iscorrectly placed in the charger base. This is an indication that handle is charging. Theindicator will turn off when the toothbrush is removed from the base.3. The optimum voltage for charging is 120V.4. To maintain the unit’s full performance, it should always be replaced back on the charging base after use.

Note: Charge for at least 16 hours before using the unit for the first time.

HOW TO USE SONIDENT1. Attach the brush head to the handle by positioningthe brush head at a 90-degree angle to the left of thehandle (See Figure A). Turn the brush head counterclockwise one-quarter turn, so the bristles are facingthe same direction as the ON/OFF button, and thebrush head will snap into place (See Figure B).2. Before brushing, wet the brush head to moisten,then apply toothpaste.3. To avoid splashing, guide the brush head to yourmouth before switching the SoniDent ON. Push theON/OFF button to activate the unit. The indicatorlight will glow red when the power is on.4. SoniDent has been designed with 3 different speedlevels to adjust to your own sensitivity level. Scrollthrough the speeds (low, medium, high) by tappingthe arrow button.5. Guide the brush head to your teeth, placing it at a45-degree angle towards the gum line. Gently guidethe brush head from tooth to tooth, spending a fewseconds on the surface of each tooth.6. Brush the gum lines as well as the teeth, startingwith the outside teeth and gums, followed by theinsides and finish with the chewing surfaces. Ensurethat you spend equal time in all 4 quadrants of yourmouth.7. Do not press to hard or scrub with this unit. Thesonic waves penetrate difficult-to-clean areas,removing plaque and bacteria.8. The auto timer will automatically turn the unit off afterthe 2-minute dentist recommended brushing time.Note: To turn the unit off before the 2 minutes haveelapsed, simply press the OFF button.9. Rinse mouth thoroughly with water.10.Remove brush head and rinse under running water.11.Brush heads should be replaced every 2-3 months toensure optimal performance.HoMedics replacement brush heads (RH-S) for thismodel are available at your local retailer or checkwww.homedics.com for a list of retailers that offer thesereplacement heads.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE1. After use, rinse the brush head for several secondsunder running water with the handle switched on.2. Switch off the handle and take off the brush head.3. Rinse both parts separately under running waterand wipe them dry. Note: Be sure to point thehandle downward (upside down) when rinsing. Donot allow water to drain down into the handle.4. After cleaning place the handle back on thecharging base. Note: For optimal charging basestability, run the power cord through the right or leftslot on the back of the charging base.5. When SoniDent is not in use for an extendedperiod, unplug the cord and store.6. Clean the charger base periodically with a soft clothor paper towel. The charger base must be drybefore plugging it into an electrical outlet.

MEDICAL SAFEGUARDSPlease note the following instructions for your continuedsafety.1. Similar to starting any new oral hygiene product,contact your dentist before using SoniDent if you havehad oral or periodontal surgery.2. Contact your dentist if excessive bleeding occurs or ifbleeding continues after 2 weeks.3. This product is designed for cleaning teeth and gumsonly. Do not use for any other purpose.Warning: Individuals with pacemakers should consulta physician prior to use.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONSREMOVING AND DISPOSING OF NI-CAD BATTERIESSoniDent is equipped with long-lasting, rechargeablenickel-cadmium batteries. To help protect our environment,they should be removed at the end of the unit’s life for safedisposal. Batteries CANNOT be replaced.To remove the batteries before discarding product:1. Place the handle in the charging base and turncounter clockwise to remove the cap.2. Slide the battery out of the SoniDent handle andremove.3. Dispose of the cell-pack in compliance with national orlocal regulations for environmental protection andrecycling of raw materials. Do not dispose of thecell-pack by burning or incineration.

Note: To maintain optimal performance, we recommend that you replace your brush head every 2-3 months.Note: We recommend soaking the brush head in a denture cleaner (commercially available) every 2to 4 weeks to keep it hygienically clean.Caution: All servicing of this unit must be performed by authorized HoMedics service personnel only.

Caution: Opening the handle will destroy the appliance and invalidate the warranty.Note: During the first few days of using, your gums may bleed slightly. Any bleeding should stop within a few days. If your gums continue to bleed for a period of 2 weeks or more, discontinue use and consult your dentist.
