General InstructionsTo reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarizedplug. The plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If theplug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it stilldoes not fit, the outlet may not be polarized. Contact an electrician for assistance. Do not modify the plug in any way
SetupThe Shiatsu Massage Cushion comes with a screw located onthe back of the unit to protect the massage mechanism duringshipment.1. Before using the cushion for the first time, remove the screwusing the included Allen wrench.2. Dispose of the screw properly.Warning: Failure to remove the screw may cause permanentdamage to the massage cushion.3. Plug the cushion into a 120V AC outlet. Attach the cushion toa chair. The massage cushion fits most chairs.
Fastening StrapsThe cushion uses unique straps to fasten the cushion to almostany chair. Just slip the straps over the seat or chair and adjustthe fastening straps to secure the cushion. This helps prevent thecushion from slipping or sliding.Notes• This cushion is not recommended for use on wooden surfacesas the zipper may damage the wood. Caution is recommendedwhen using on upholstered furniture.• In order to help eliminate any/all risk of injury, only gentle forceshould be exerted against the unit. You may soften the massageforce by placing a towel between yourself and the unit.
Hand ControllerPower ButtonTo turn on the massage cushion, first press the POWER button.The LED indicator illuminates and confirms your selection. Toturn the massage cushion off, press the button again. The LEDindicator blinks as the dual massage mechanism returns to itslowest point; it will then turn off.
Hand Controller Note: The moving dual massage mechanism always stops orfinishes in its lowest position. It continues to this position after thepower has been turned off. If the electrical supply is interrupted,the mechanism will stop or move to its lowest position once thepower is restored.Power AdapterThe massage cushion is powered by a custom 120V AC adapterthat is included with the unit.Demo ButtonFor a brief demonstration of the features, press the DEMObutton. The unit completes one cycle of Shiatsu, rolling andvibration massage. Once complete, the unit automaticallyturns off.Shiatsu ProgramsChoose from three preset programs where the Shiatsu massagetravels up and down a specific area of your back. To select aspecific program, press the button and the LED illuminates.To stop, press the button again or press another button.
Hand ControllerSpot ShiatsuWhen the unit is in Shiatsu massage, press either button to stopand focus the Shiatsu action in one place. Once the unit is operating in Spot Shiatsu, you can adjust the mechanism position byholding down either button until the desired position is reached.The Up Arrow moves the mechanism up and the Down Arrowmoves it down. Once you release the button, the mechanismstops in that place.Rolling MassageRolling is similar to two hands or thumbs working up and downyour spine.Rolling ProgramsChoose from three preset programs where the Rolling massagetravels up and down in a specific area of the back. To select aprogram, press the button and the LED illuminates. To stop, pressthe button again or press another button.
Hand ControllerWidth AdjustmentWhile the unit is in Rolling massage, press the button toadjust the distance or width between the massage heads.This adjustment changes the area that is massaged along thespine. With each press, the massage heads move to the nextavailable position.SeatTo choose vibration seat massage, press the button. Vibrationturns on in Low (L) intensity. The corresponding LED illuminates.To change the intensity, continue to press the button and the unitcycles through to Medium (M), High (H), then to Off.Note: For your safety, there is a 15-minute auto shutoff onthe unit.HeatFor soothing heat when massage is on, simply press the heatbutton and the corresponding red L.E.D. light will illuminate. Todeselect, press the button again and the corresponding L.E.D lightwill turn off. For your safety
Storing the Cushion• Place the massager in its box or in a safe, dry, cool place.• Avoid contact with sharp edges or pointed objects that mightcut or puncture the fabric surface. To avoid breakage, do notwrap the power cord around the unit. Do not hang the unit bythe hand-control cord.
Cleaning the CushionBefore cleaning, unplug the unit and allow it to cool. Clean onlywith a soft, slightly damp sponge. Never allow water or any otherliquid to come in contact with the unit.• Do not immerse in any liquid to clean.• Never use abrasive cleaners, brushes, gasoline, kerosene, glass/furniture polish or paint thinner to clean.• Do not attempt to repair the cushion. There are no user-serviceable parts. For service, take it to qualified service personnel.
WarrantyWhat Is CoveredThis warranty covers any defects in materials or workmanship, with the exceptions stated below.How Long Coverage LastsThis warranty runs for 90 days from the date of original purchase.What Is Not CoveredThis warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse or use other than as intended and describedin the product instruction manual, or loss or damage to batteries or removable parts.What The Sharper Image Will DoThe Sharper Image warrants this product against defects in materials and workmanship.
