HoMedics sells its products with the intent that they are free of defects in manufacture andworkmanship for a period of five years from the date of original purchase, except as notedbelow. HoMedics warrants that its products will be free of defects in material and workmanshipunder normal use and service. This warranty does not cover damage causedby misuse or abuse; accident; the attachment of any unauthorized accessory; alteration to theproduct; improper installation; unauthorized repairs or modifications; improper use of electrical/power supply; loss of power; dropped product; malfunction or damage of an operating partfrom failure to provide manufacturer’s recommended maintenance; transportation damage; theft;neglect; vandalism; or environmental conditions; loss of use during the period the product is ata repair facility or otherwise awaiting parts or repair; or any other conditions whatsoever that arebeyond the control of HoMedics.This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in the country in which theproduct is purchased.   • Always unplug the air cleaner from the electrical outlet immediately after using andbefore cleaning.
  • Keep cord away from heated surfaces
  • Always place the air cleaner on a firm, level surface.
  • Always place the air cleaner at least six (6) inches away from walls and three (3) feetfrom heat sources such as stoves, radiators, or heaters.
  • DO NOT operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen isbeing administered.
  • DO NOT reach for an appliance that has fallen into water. Unplug it immediately.
  • DO NOT use while bathing or in the shower.
  • DO NOT place or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
  • DO NOT place in or drop into water or other liquid.
  • NEVER use pins or other metallic fasteners with this appliance.
  • Keep dry – DO NOT operate in a wet or moist condition.
  • This appliance is designed for personal, non-professional use only.
  • Check your air cleaner cord and plug connections.
  • Faulty wall outlet connections or loose plugs can cause the outlet or plug tooverheat. Be sure the plug fits tight in the outlet.

CAUTION: It is normal for the plug to feel warm to the touch; however,a loose fit between the AC outlet (receptacle) and plug may causeoverheating and distortion of the plug. Contact a qualified electricianto replace loose or worn outlet.

WARNING – TO REDUCE THE RISK OF BURNS, FIRE, ELECTRICSHOCK OR INJURY TO PERSONS:

  • Extreme caution is necessary when any air cleaner is used by or near children orinvalids and whenever the air cleaner is left operating and unattended.
  • Always unplug the air cleaner when not in use.
  • Do not operate the air cleaner with a damaged cord or plug, or after the air cleanermalfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard the air cleaneror return to HoMedics Consumer Relations for examination, electrical or mechanicaladjustment, or repair.
  • This air cleaner is not intended for use in bathroom, laundry areas and similar moistindoor locations. Never locate air cleaner where it may fall into a bathtub or otherwater container.
  •  Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners orsimilar coverings. Do not route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange cordaway from traffic areas where it can be tripped over.
  • To disconnect the air cleaner, first turn controls to the OFF position, then removeplug from outlet.
  • Do not tilt or move the air cleaner while it is in operation. Shut off and remove plugfrom outlet before moving.
  • Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening asthis may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the air cleaner.
  • To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do notuse on soft surface, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
  • Use this air cleaner only for its intended use as described in this manual. Any otheruse not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injuryto persons.
  • Always plug the air cleaner directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with anextension cord or relocate power tap (outlet/power strip).

CAUTION: Avoid the use of an extension cord because the extension cordmay overheat and cause a risk of fire. However, if you have to use anextension cord, the cord should be No. 14 AWG minimum size and rated notless than 1875 watts.

  • DO NOT use outdoors.

Operating InstructionsTurning the Unit On

  • Take the air cleaner out of the box and remove the clear protective plastic bag.
  • Place the air cleaner on a firm level surface.
  • Before turning the air cleaner ON, you need to confirm that the filter is firmly in placeand did not become loose during shipping.
  1. To check filter, open the front grill by          gently pulling on the tabs on either sideof the top of the grill plate.
  2. Open the plate outward until the tabs atthe bottom of the grill plate easily slideaway from the unit.
  3. The HEPA filter will be resting inside theunit. Make sure that the filter is firmlyseated inside of the unit. 
  4. Place the tabs at the bottom of thegrill plate into the base of the unit.Gently push the grill plate back into placeuntil you hear a click sound indicatingthat the grill is firmly latched.Connect the power cord into a standardAC outlet.

1. On/Off and Speed Settings

  • To turn the air cleaner on, press the ON/OFF button on the control panel.When the air cleaner is on, the LED light in the ON/OFF button on the controlpanel will be lit and the air cleaner will start to operate on LOW speed.
  • Once the air cleaner is ON, slide the SPEED selector bar to selectspeed settings.
  • To turn the air cleaner OFF, simply press the ON/OFF button on thecontrol panel.

Cleaning and MaintenanceWe recommend that the air cleaner be cleaned at least once a month and beforestorage.

  • Turn the air cleaner OFF at the main switch and unplug it from the outlet.
  • Use a dry cloth to clean the external surfaces of the air cleaner.
  • The grill plate may be cleaned with a damp cloth or the brush attachment of yourvacuum cleaner.

DO NOT USE WATER, WAX, POLISH OR ANY CHEMICAL SOLUTIONClean Filter IndicatorThe air cleaner is equipped with a CLEAN FILTER indicator to let the user know when itis time to clean the HEPA filter, about every 2,800 hours of use. When the HEPA filteris ready to be cleaned, the LED CLEAN FILTER indicator will light up on the controlpanel.Once the HEPA filter has been cleaned, press and hold the CLEAN FILTER button toreset the Indicator until the LED indicator light flashes and turns off.Cleaning the HEPA FilterMake sure that the air cleaner is turned OFF and unplugged from the outlet beforecleaning.

  1. Open the front grill by gently pulling on  the tabs on either side of the top of thegrill plate.
  2. Open the plate outward until the tabsat the bottom of the grill plate easilyslide away from the unit.
  3. Remove the HEPA filter from the mainunit.
  4. Use the brush attachment with your    vacuum cleaner. Run the attachmentalong both sides of the HEPA filter,cleaning thoroughly between theaccordion folds of the filter.
  5. Place the clean HEPA filter back in themain unit, making sure that it is firmlyseated inside the unit.
  6. Place the tabs at the bottom of thegrill plate into the base of the unit.Gently push the grill plate back intoplace until you hear a click soundindicating that the grill is firmlylatched.

DO NOT USE WATER OR ANY HOUSEHOLD CLEANERS OR DETERGENTSTO CLEAN THE HEPA FILTER.It is recommended that you replace the HEPA filter every 18 months tomaintain the optimal performance of your air cleaner.
