ifi micro iPhono3 Black label Instruction Manual

IFI Micro iPhono 3 Black Label Instruction Manual

1. DC 15V Power input

The iPhono3 Black Label must ONLY be powered by 15 volts.

Tip: For best performance, use the included ultra-low noise iPower X 15V power supply.

2. EQ Curves Selection

This is the EQ curves selection switch.

Tip: For best performance switch to the setting most suited to your LP’s EQ curve.

3. RCA analogue output

This is an analogue output.

4. MC input

This is a MC input suitable for MC cartridges to an output voltage ≤1mV.

5. Ground

This is iPhono3 Black Label’s ground, please connect it to the turntable’s grounding wire.

6. Settings Switches

The settings switches are located on the underside of iPhono3 Black Label.

Tip: For best sound performance adjust the gain, load and EQ curve settings in accordance with your preference, turntable’s specifications and LP’s EQ curve.

Tip: EQ Curves

Columbia*: most Columbia/CBS, Epic, EMI (records originally issued under Columbia) etc.

RIAA: standard EQ curve for all records issued after 1980s and some after 1950s. There are four different types of RIAA EQ available, e.g. eRIAA, IEC, RIAA, eRIAA+IEC. Adjust it via the micro switches located on the underside of iPhono3 Black Label.

Decca*: most Decca, London, Deutsche Grammophon (DG), Archiv, EMI, Argo, NAB etc.

* For pre-1980 records

If an LP sounds overly bright, edgy, thin and lacking scale and body via RIAA EQ, please try Decca EQ.

If an LP sounds both too bright and with muddy overblown bass, please try the Columbia EQ.

Tip: For further guidelines please see the enclosed instructions or go to our website https://ifi-audio.com/iphono-calculator/

7. MM input

Suitable for MM and high-output MC cartridges with an output voltage >1mV.

8. LEDs
