III. General information

About USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 Gen 1

USB 3.0 is also known as USB 3.1 Gen 1. This connectivity standard delivers speeds up to 5Gbps.

About USB-C

Not all USB-C ports support the full functionality of the USB Type-C standard. Some ports might only provide data transfers and might not support video or USB Power Delivery 2.0. Make sure that your host laptop supports DP Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery 2.0.

Thunderbolt™ 3 technology also uses the USB-C connector, so you can connect the adapter to a Thunderbolt™ port. The adapter will connect to the Thunderbolt™ port at the USB speed of 5Gbps.

USB Power Delivery 2.0 is a specification that enables to send power (up to 100 watts) over a USB-C or Thunderbolt™ 3 cable that supports the specification. This adapter supports USB Power Delivery 2.0, delivering up to 60 watts of power through the USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port on your laptop.

HDMI video output

Connects a video or audio device such as a high-definition television, any compatible digital or audio component.

Depending on your operating system the HDMI video output port supports resolutions up to 4K*2K @ 30Hz (HDMI 1.4).

Memory card slot

The SD™ card reader enables simultaneous access to a SD™ card for fast read/write transfers.Note: SD™ card and TF memory card cannot be connected at the same time, if you do so, neither will be recognized. You must access each memory card individually for it to work.

IV. Using the USB-C hub

  1. Insert the USB-C cable into your device’s Type C port.
  2. Your operating system will automatically detect the device, and your device is now ready to use.
  3. The hub provides card slots for the most popular card formats as well as HDMI, and USB 3.0 ports.

Warning: Insert the memory card carefully in the right direction. Please do not attempt to force cards into the slot. This may damage the device or the card, leading to the corruption or loss of your valuable data.

Important

  • For preventing any damage or data loss, do not remove the memory card, HDMI cable, USB 3.0 device or USB-C device while data is being transmitted.
  • In case of any operating error as a result of the malfunctioning of the card reader, please unplug it and re-plug again; this will reset the device in order to resume normal operation of the device.
