Intended Use

This product is NOT designed for chopping up frozen or hard food items.Never fill the spinner with hot foods.This product is NOT suitable for use in an oven, microwave or freezer.This product is not suitable for commercial use.

Safety Instructions

Danger of Injury
  • Caution: there is a danger of suffocation from packaging material. Please keep these items away from small children and animals.
  • Caution: the blades of the cutting inserts and graters are very sharp. Handle them with care to avoid injury.
  • This product is NOT a toy. DO not leave children and animals unsupervised with the spinner. They could injury themselves or cause damage to the unit itself.
  • Never chop up small foods (lemons, tomatoes etc..) or the ends of larger foods (cucumbers etc..) without using the finger guard!
For your Health
  • There may still be packaging residue on the spinner and inserts. To avoid having the taste of your food affected, thoroughly clean the product before use.
  • Clean the spinner and inserts immediately after each use.
Proper Handling
  • Always place the spinner on a dry, flat, stable, non-slip surface.
  • Make sure prior to each use that the product is correctly assembled, is not damaged and is in good working order.
  • If the spinner is broken or damaged, do not attempt to fix it yourself. In the event of damage, please contact the Kogan.com customer support team.
  • Only use the accessories supplied with the unit. Do not use other blade inserts, even if they look like they should be compatible.
  • Do not use or store the product near heat surfaces such as stovetops or ovens.
  • To ensure stability, hold the spinner firmly with one hand during use.
  • Make sure the salad bowl does not tip over. Even with the lid firmly closed, liquids can escape!
  • Do not use caustic or abrasive cleaning agents or cleaning pads to clean the spinner. These can damage the surface of the unit.

Cutting Accessories

The cutting lid can be attached to the salad bowl and is suitable for chopping up and grating vegetables, cheese and sausages. The cutting lid is divided up into three sections. One the outer sides there is a very fine grater (A) for grating hard cheese, chocolate or even fine grating of potatoes, and a coarse grater (C) for the grating of vegetables. In the center section (B), you have a choice of four different cutting inserts that you can use to suit your requirements:

Before Initial Use

  • Unpack all parts and check the items supplied to ensure you have every component. If you notice anything is missing or damaged upon receiving your spinner, do not use the product. Contact the Kogan.com customer support team.
  • Carefully remove the protective covers and films from the blades of the cutting inserts and graters.
  • Clean all components thoroughly (see the “Cleaning and storage) chapter.
Use
  • The blades of the cutting inserts and graters are sharp! Always use the finger guard to prevent cutting injuries.
  • Place the bowl on a clean, dry, stable non-slip surface such as a kitchen bench or table.
Using the Salad Spinner

  1. Place your salad into the salad basket and wash it thoroughly.
  2. Allow the salad to drip dry slightly before placing the salad basket into the bowl.
  3. Place the spinner lid on top of the bowl.
  4. Hold the lid firmly with one hand, and turn the crank handle with your other hand to spin the salad. The faster you turn the handle, the quicker your salad will dry.
  5. Open the spinner lid when you have finished spinning, lift the salad basket out and pour the water out.
  6. You can now transfer the salad from the salad basket into the salad bowl, then attach the cutting lid with the different inserts to add any further ingredients if desired.
Using the Cutting Lid and Cutting Inserts

  1. Wash the food that is to be chopped, and peel it if necessary. The cutting lid is divided up into three sections: On the sides there is a coarse metal grater and a very find grater (e.g. for hard cheese), and in the middle four different cutting inserts can be used.
  2. Insert a cutting insert of your choice into the cutting lid by inserting the cutting insert with the two small holders first into the cutting lid (see the picture to left), then pressing pressing down the insert until you hear it engage and lock into place.
  3. Place the cutting lid onto the salad bowl.
  4. Place the food that you want to chop up onto the finger guard, then slide the food evenly over the cutter or grater of your choice.
  5. The food that is being chopped up will be collected directly into the salad bowl.
  6. Clean the cutting inserts after each use in the manner described in the “Cleaning and Storage” chapter.

Cleaning and Storage

CAUTION!

The blades of the cutters and graters are sharp! Handle them with care to avoid injury! Do not use any caustic or abrasive cleaning agents or cleaning pads to clean the product.

NOTE: some types of vegetable or fruit (e.g. beetroot) may discolour the plastic parts of the product. This is normal, is quite safe and does not constitute grounds for a warranty claim.

  1. Remove the cutting insert prior to cleaning. To remove the cutting insert, lift it up using the recess in the lid provided for this purpose (see the marking on the image to left), and remove the insert.
  2. Clean all parts with clean, hot water and a little mild detergent, or clean them in the dishwasher.
  3. Dry all parts thoroughly with a soft, clean cloth.
  4. Store all parts in a dry, clean location that is out of reach of children.
