Note:This gate is designed to protect your baby or pet from danger when installed in staircases, kitchens, fireplaces, doorways and hallways. This product will not prevent all accidents. Never leave child unattended.

  • Please read, follow and retain this user guide thoroughly to ensure correct installation and for future reference. Please inspect your safety playpen upon receipt. Please check that all parts are present, correct and in good order. If you notice any damage or any parts missing, do not assemble. Contact Kogan.com for support.
  • WARNING: Adult assembly required. Keep small parts out of reach of children and safely dispose of packaging.

  • WARNING: To prevent serious injury or death, securely install safety fence or playpen and use only according to this user guide.
  • WARNING: This safety barrier must be fitted between a rigid surface such as doorways or walls along with wall brackets secured with screws. Ensure appropriate fixings are used for drywall, wood, brick etc. Wall anchors are provided. If you are unable to secure to the wall satisfactorily, consult with a hardware store for adequate fittings.
  • WARNING: Do not use the playpen without a base (not included).

WARNING

When used as a playpen

This playpen complies with EN 12227:2010.

  • WARNING: This product is intended for use with children from 6-24 months or small to medium sized pets.
  • WARNING: Do not place the playpen close to an open fire or other heat source.
  • WARNING: Ensure that the playpen is fully assembled and all the locking mechanisms engaged before placing your child in this playpen.
  • WARNING: Do not leave anything in the playpen which may provide a foothold or create a danger of suffocation or strangulation.
  • WARNING: Do not use the playpen without a base (not included).
  • If the height of the base is adjustable, the base should always be used in the lowest position as soon as the child is old enough to sit, kneel or to pull itself up.
  • Infants can suffocate in gaps between a mattress too small or too thick and products sides on soft bedding.
  • Never add a mattress, pillow, comforter or padding. · Never use a water mattress with this product.
  • Use a hexagonal mattress or pad with a side length no more than 58cm and no more than 14cm thick.

When used as a safety fence

This safety fence complies with EN1930:2011.

  • WARNING: This safety fence is for domestic use only.
  • WARNING: This product is intended for use with children from 6-24 months or small to medium sized pets.
  • WARNING: Incorrect installation can be dangerous.
  • WARNING: Check regularly that all assembly fittings are tightened properly
  • WARNING: The safety fence must not be fitted across windows.
  • WARNING: Do not use the safety fence if any components are damaged or missing.
  • WARNING: Never use with a child able to climb over or dislodge/open the safety fence.
  • WARNING: Do not leave the gate of the fence open at any time. Remove the safety fence if not in use for extended periods.
  • This safety fence is suitable for openings up to 370cm.
  • To prevent falls, never use this product at the top of stairs.
  • If the safety fence is used at the bottom of the stairs, it should be positioned at the front of the lower tread possible.

When used as a playpen or a safety fence

  • Adult assembly required. Install only according to instructions this user guide.
  • This product needs to be closed manually; always check that it is correctly closed.
  • Never allow older children to climb on or over the fence as this could result in an accident.
  • This playpen/fence should be checked regularly to ensure they remain properly fixed and secure. Never use this product if there are any loose or missing fasteners, loose joints, broken parts or mesh/fabric. Check before assembly and periodically during use. Any additional or replacement parts should only be obtained from Kogan.com.
  • This product will not necessarily prevent all accidents. Never leave a child unattended. A swing gate can trap small hands.
  • Do not remove the safety notices.
  • Eventually your child will reach an age when they are capable of opening your gate. Children will develop physically and mentally at different rates; therefore, it is important that you monitor your child’s capabilities.
  • Retain these instructions as you may wish to reposition the playpen/fence.
  • To clean: Use a soft damp cloth to wipe product. Dry after cleaning. Do not use chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Strings can cause strangulation! Never place items with a string around a child’s neck such as hood strings or pacifier cords. Never suspend strings over product or attach strings to toys.
  • Discontinue use of the product when child is able to climb out or reaches the height of 89cm.
  • Child can become tapped and die when improvised netting or covers are placed on top of a product. Never add such items to confine child in product.
  • When child is able to pull to standing position, remove bumper pads, large toys and other objects that could serve as steps for climbing out. · Never place product near a window where cords from blinds or drapes could strangle a child.
  • Never leave a child unattended when using this product.
  • To reduce the risk of SIDS, pediatricians recommend healthy infants be placed on their back to sleep, unless otherwise advised by your physician.
  • Never substitute or modify any parts.
  • If refinishing, use a nontoxic finish specified for children’s products. · The product must fully assembled prior to use.

ASSEMBLY

  1. Ensure all packaging material has been removed.
  2. Loosen the tension knobs by rotating anti-clockwise and unfold the panels.

INSTALLING AS SAFETY FENCE

The safety fence can be adjusted to suit hallways from 73cm up to 370cm wide.

  • Measure the width of your hallway.
  • Remove or add additional panels to suit your desired width.

Removing panels:

  • Release the two latches on the panel using a small pointed object.
  • Remove the panel by pulling away from the gate.

Adding safety panels:

  • Release the two latches on the panel using a small pointed object.
  • Insert the additional panel into the gate until it snaps securely in place.

Securing to wall

Step 1:

  • Press the button on the end pole latch and insert the wall bracket until it snaps securely in place.
  • Repeat for the 3 remaining wall brackets.

Step 2:Place the wall brackets up against your wall and mark the screw positions. (Note: the distance between the two wall brackets must be at least 65cm.)

Step 3a:Securing to wall studs or wooden surface Using a Æ2mm drill bit, drill the holes for the wall brackets.

Step 3b: Securing to plaster and non-wooden surfaces

  • Using a Æ5mm drill bit, drill out the holes for the wall brackets.
  • Insert the supplied wall anchors into the holes.

Step 4:

  • Press the button on the bottom of wall brackets and detach from the end poles.
  • Using the supplied screws secure the 4 wall brackets to your wall.

Step 5:

  • Press the button on the end pole latch and insert it into wall bracket until it snaps securely in place.
  • Repeat for the 3 remaining wall brackets.

Step 6:Tighten the tension knobs by rotating clockwise. (Note: always check the tension knobs are secure before each use.)

INSTALLING AS PLAYPEN

Step 1:

  • Release the two latches on the panel using a small pointed object.
  • Detach the panel from the end poles.

Step 2:

  • Connect the panels together adding in any unused panels.
  • Place the playpen in your desired position.

Step 3:Tighten the tension knobs by rotating clockwise. (Note: always check the tension knobs are secure before each use.)

OPERATION

Opening the gate

  • Press the 2 buttons on the gate at the same time.
  • Pull the gate upwards until is unlatches from the lock, then open the gate.
  • Ensure the gate is securely latched when it closing it.

Folding up the safety fence

Step 1:Loosen the tension knobs by rotating anti-clockwise.

Step 2: Press the button on the bottom of the wall brackets and pull the panels away from the wall

Step 3: The fence can now be folded away for storage.
