Before First Ride

  • Before first use, please double-check the function of all the parts of your bike. If you have any doubts or if you detect a problem, please contact  Kogan.com for support.
  • Respect local and national road traffic regulations.
  • For your safety, it is highly recommended that you wear a certified helmet.
  • When used during heavy rain, snow, in slippery conditions or in the case of low visibility, be careful and adjust your speed.
  • The illustrations in this manual are used simply to provide examples; the components of your bicycle might differ. In addition, some of the parts shown might be optional and not part of your bicycle’s standard equipment.
  • The following user guide is only a guide to assist you and is not a complete or comprehensive manual of all aspects of maintaining and repairing your bicycle. If you are not comfortable or lack the skills or tools to assemble the bicycle yourself, you should take it to a qualified mechanic at a bicycle shop.   • This product is designed for consumer use. Follow directions and use only as described.
  • Once fully assembled, inspect to ensure all hardware parts such as bolts, nuts, and washers are positioned correctly and tightly secured.
  • Always inspect the safety chain guard that protects the moving parts of the bike to be in safe and good order.
  • Always inspect the seat post, seat slider, pedals, and handlebar to make sure they are in a safe and stable position before using the bike.
  • It is recommended to lubricate all moving parts on a regular basis.
  • Do not wear loose clothing while riding.
  • Do not remove feet from the pedals while they are in motion. Wear running shoes or other footwear suitable for exercise.
  • Dry after each use to remove moisture. Wipe regularly with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and water solution. To avoid damaging the finish, never use a petroleum-based solvent.
  • Do not dismount the bike until the pedals are at a complete stop.
  • Prior to assembly, ensure you have all the components and tools listed. Some components are pre-assembled to help with the assembly process.
  • Always use the product as intended. If you find any defective components while assembling or checking the equipment, or if you hear any unusual noises coming from the equipment during use, cease use immediately and contact help.kogan.com for assistance. Do not use until resolved.
  • Do not place fingers or any other objects into moving parts of the bike.

OVERVIEW

ASSEMBLY

Step 1: Getting startedRemove the bike from the packaging. DO NOT dispose of the original packaging until assembly is complete. Check all packaging to ensure all necessary components are found before beginning assembly.Remove all padding and zip ties as you go.Step 2: Front forkPlace the front wheel between the fork in the front of the frame (Figure 2a), positioned between the front brake blocks. Ensure the wheel is aligned in  the center before tightening.Front-wheel must be in the center of the fork (Figure 2b), or the front brake will not operate smoothly.Note: Do not tighten components to 100% during assembly. Loosely tighten only to 50%-80% tightness, and retighten when the assembly is complete.

Step 3: HandlebarLoosen the 4 bolts on the head tube’s front cover (Figure 3a), and install the handlebar into the front of the head tube. It will lock into the middle with the brakes angled about 35° downward (Figure 3b).

Step 4: BrakesAdjust the brakes: they should be taut with the brake pulled approximately 1/3 of the way to the handlebar (Figure 4a).

Note: If the brake is not easy to adjust, adjust as per the steps below. Figures 4b and 4c are the two adjustment screws in the front of the rear disc brake bracket. Figures 4d and 4e are the adjustment screws behind of the rear disc brake. The distance between the disc brake block and the disc is adjusted by these 2 screws. The disc pad must be in the middle of the disc brake block. In the middle of the disc, the disc pad cannot be rubbed to the disc brakes on both sides. Do not ride the bike unless the brakes have been tested.

Step 5: Seat postInsert the seat post into the body tube (Figure 5a). The safety line should be within the tube. Make sure that the minimum insertion mark is completely covered (with the safety line within the tube) and that the seat is pointing forward in alignment with the bicycle. Secure with the clamp at the base of the post (Figure 5b).

Step 6: Attaching the pedalsInstall the pedal marked “L” on the left crank and tighten, then install the pedal marked “R” on the right crank and tighten. Note: Damage will occur if pedals are not correctly and firmly attached.

Step 7: Gear adjustmentThe right shifter controls the rear 7 levels (rear freewheel) (Figure 7a), while the left shifter controls the front 3 levels (crank gears) (Figure 7b). Control with both shifters to adjust the cycling gear.

Step 8: Front suspension adjustmentThe front suspension can be unlocked to provide greater shock absorption for mountain biking and other bumpy road conditions.

Step 9: Assembly completeGo through and retighten the fastenings to ensure everything is sturdy and safe before using.

FOLDING THE BIKE

Folding Configuration Setup

  1. By hand, pull each pedal horizontally away from the frame along the pedal axis (Figure 10a). Fold the pedal up or downward 90° (Figure 10b).
  2.  Release the clamp on the frame (Figures 11a, 11b).
  3. Pull the clamp back and raise it slightly to fold the frame (Figure 12).
  4. The bike can now be folded up (Figures 13a, 13b).

To unfold the bike:Reverse the folding steps, pulling the clamp back and pulling the front half of the frame back into place. Release the clamp, then lock it back into position to secure (Figure 14a).Ensure the pedals are unfolded before use (Figure 14b).

TYRE PRESSURE

Tires must be properly inflated before riding. Never exceed the maximum pressure (PSI) that is listed on the side of the tire.Your tyres will state a recommended tyre pressure. Use the below as a general guide:

BMX bikes 35 – 50 PSI
Mountain bikes 40 – 65 PSI
Road Touring bikes 70 – 90 PSI
Hybrid bikes 60-100 PSI
Road Racing bikes 110-125 PSI
