SAFETY & WARNINGS

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance and retain this guide for reference.
  • Do not operate the air fryer in flammable or heat-sensitive areas. Do not operate the air fryer within an enclosed space, such as a cabinet.
  • Be sure to use on a heat resistant and even surface, such as a heatproof mat. Do not place directly on a benchtop. Keep the appliance at least 20cm away from the wall, furniture or other flammables
  • Do not insert foreign objects into the air inlet or outlet, as this may result in electric shock or injury. If a foreign object accidentally enters these sections, please unplug the power cord immediately and contact Kogan.com.
  • Do not disassemble or attempt to modify the unit.
  • Do not force the power cord to bend or stretch. If the power cord is damaged, stop using the appliance immediately and replace the cord before the appliance is used again
  • When unplugging the appliance, please hold the plug and pull it out of the socket. If you unplug it by pulling the cord directly, the cord may be damaged, resulting in leakage or fire. When not in use for an extended period, please unplug the appliance from the wall socket.
  • Do not use loose electrical sockets as this may result in fire, electric shock or injury.
  • Do not use an extension cord unless completely necessary with this product. If an extension cord is used please ensure that it has a rating equal or exceeding the rating of this appliance.
  • Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on the cord or pull cord around sharp edges or comers. Keep cord from heated surfaces.
  • Do not bend or damage the power cord.
  • Always unplug the appliance when not in use. To disconnect from the power supply, grip the plug and pull from wall outlet. Never pull by the cord. The plug must be removed from wall outlet before cleaning, servicing, maintenance or moving the appliance.
  • Do not place the appliance near a hot gas or electric burner.
  • Do not cover the appliance while in use. If it is covered, there is a risk of fire.
  • Vigorously opening and closing the door will cause deformation of door panel.
  • If the appliance emits excessive amounts of smoke, turn off the appliance or unplug the power cord and keep the door closed to prevent any flames from spreading. The appliance cannot be operated by an external timer or an independent remote-control system.
  • Never immerse the appliance in water.
  • Remove all packaging materials (including plastic bags, protective film, accessories, etc.) before use. Keep away from infants and young children to prevent suffocation by misusing.
  • Do not clean the appliance until it is unplugged and cooled, to avoid accidents such as electric shock and burns.
  • Do not use the appliance if the water tank is damaged.
  • The water in the water tank must be replaced before each use. After cooking, the remaining water must be poured out to avoid the spread of viral bacteria.
  • Steam fryers heat up during use. Avoid contacting hot surfaces on the steam fryer.
  • Do not place your hands inside the unit immediately after cooking to avoid burns. Allow the appliance to cool completely before opening the door.
  • During operation of the fryer, there may be a small amount of smoke. Ensure nearby windows are open to assist with air circulation. Infants and pets are especially susceptible to smoke; place them in other rooms while the appliance is in use. If you need to frequently cook foods which easily produce smoke, please ensure that the steam fryer used is in a well-ventilated place.
  • Thoroughly clean the steam fryer after every use once the machine has cooled, including wiping up remaining water and removing any food residue.

WARNING:

  • Do not use broken gloves to pick up hot food, as warm water and oil can easily cause burns.
  • Please be careful when opening the door during cooking, as steam will emit from within.
  • Children should only use steam fryers if they adequately understand the proper use instructions and can be allowed to use the steam fryer without supervision if they understand that incorrect use will cause dangers. When the appliance is operated in a combined mode, the child must be used under the supervision of an adult due to the high temperature. Older people need to use steam fryers with their family members.
  • Any component with the “High Temperature Surface ” mark will become hot during use. Avoid contact with this part of the device.
  • If the steam fryer door or door seal is damaged, cease usage immediately and contact Kogan.com.
  • It is dangerous for untrained users to open or attempt to repair the product. If you encounter any problems during use, please contact Kogan.com

INSTRUCTIONS

Initial inspection

Upon opening the package, inspect the unit to ensure that:

  • There is no deformation of the outer cover of the machine due to impact or heavy pressure.
  • The pot door and the control panel are flat, and the door can be opened smoothly.
  • The power cord is not loose or damaged.
  • The voltage noted on the steam fryer rating plate matches the local voltages.

Always consider the following factors when positioning the fryer for use:

  • Whether the fryer is level and stable on the chosen surface.
  •  The appliance’s proximity to high temperatures or moisture.
  • The grounding of the electrical plug and socket.

In order to avoid causing damage to or dirtying the surrounding environment with oil, smoke or steam, keep the appliance at a reasonable distance from nearby walls and cabinets.

Water Tank

Attention

  • Clean the water tank if it is unused for an extended period. Residual water and other liquids are prone to mildew.
  • Do not put anything except the water into water tank to avoid malfunctions. In order to maintain high heating efficiency and food hygiene, it is recommended to use distilled or purified water.
  • Ensure that the water tank is securely in place to avoid affecting normal use.
  • Do not to use the appliance in an environment below 5°C. The time for producing steam will be slower if the temperature is too low. When the environment temperature reaches 0°C, the water will start to freeze and no steam will be produced.

Attention

  • During operation, the cooking time can be adjusted with the “+” and “-” buttons.
  • The steam fryer will not operate if the door has not been closed securely.
  • Ensure ample water is in the tank and that is has been inserted securely before use.

OPERATION

Button 1 – Steam

Water will pump into the steam generator, and hot steam vapour will spray out through steam drain holes, effectively cooking the food contained within.

When this program is active, the air fryer function is shut off.

Operation:

  1. Press the steam function icon (button 1);
  2. Set the timer using the “+” and “-” keys surrounding the timer icon.
  3. Press the ON/OFF button to start the program.The steam function will then commence.

Note: The temperature and steam quantity cannot be altered when using the steam cooking function. The vapour quantity during steam function is fixed to ensure a constant bowl temperature between 95°C-100°C. You can set different cooking times for different food and different food size.

Button 2 – Water shortage indicator

This light indicates that insufficient water is contained in the tank.

  1. The water tank has a capacity of 600ml; once completely filled, it will allow up to 40 minutes of continuous steam function.
  2. The steam function will produce condensation where the hot steam meets a colder surface temperature. The collection tray at the bottom of the appliance will gather this excess moisture.

Button 3 – Air Fryer

Taking advantage of fast cooking times and hot temperature circulation without oil, the air fryer function can be very versatile through setting different temperatures and times for many cooking purposes.

When this program is active, the steam function is shut off.

Operation:

  1. Press the Air fryer icon ,
  2. Set the temperature and timer using the “+” and “-” keys surrounding the appropriate icon.
  3. Press the ON/OFF button to start the program.The air fryer function will then commence.

Button 4 – Water scale indicator

When the machine has operated in steam mode for a cumulative 20 hours, the machine’s lime scale removal prompt light will automatically turn on and blink, indicating that the machine should be checked and cleaned of any lime scale that has appeared.

Tip: It is recommended to use pure water and distilled water as much as possible when using the machine to cook food so as to prevent the build-up of lime scale on the heating elements.

Button 5 – Water scale cleaning button

Press this button to clean the machine when the water scale indicator begins blinking.

Operation:

  • Take 500ml purified water, add 10g edible citric acid and stir evenly until the citric acid is melted.
  • Put the water tank on the machine and press the “clean function” button to remove scale.
  • After the scale is removed, the lime scale prompt light will automatically turn off.
  • Remove the pot cavity from the appliance and dump the wastewater within.

Tip: When you are not using the appliance on a regular basis, perform the water scale cleaning cycle before using the unit again.

Button 6 – Power ON/OFF

Once plugged in, the full panel will be illuminated after pushing the ON/OFF button once.Pushing the ON/OFF button a second time will start the cooking process with a default temperature of 180°C and a cooking time of 15 minutes. During the cooking cycle, pressing the Power Button will turn the unit off. All lights will turn off and the running light will continue to blink for 20 seconds to allow the unit to cool down.

Button 7–11 – Cooking Presets

Selecting any of these will set the Time and Temperature to a default setting for that particular food. You may override these presets with Time and Temperature Buttons. The details for each preset are shown in the table below:

Button 12- Running Icon

These lights will blink in sequence while cooking is in progress and continues blinking up to 20 seconds.

CLEANING & CARE

Note

The steam fryer needs to be cleaned and maintained frequently.

  • After using, please unplug the appliance. Do not place the power cord or plug directly on the hot outer casing to prevent damage to the power cord.
  • Clean the steam fryer once it has cooled adequately. The steam fryer should be cleaned regularly and all food residue inside should be removed.Note: Do not rinse the appliance directly with water when cleaning; wipe it with a damp dish cloth. Dirt will cause the eventual degradation of the appliance’s surfaces, which can affect the life of the appliance and can lead to other dangerous conditions.
  • Wipe the steam fryer housing by a cloth with a soft detergent. Then wipe it off with a damp cloth and dry it with a dry cloth. Do not use a scrubbing utensil such as a wire brush to clean the steam fryer.
  • Clean door seals, cavities and adjacent partsWARNING: Do not use a rough scrubber or a sharp metal scraper to clean the door of the steam fryer, as this can damage the seals.
  • Do not clean the door safety lock system. Use the cavity cleaning function to clean the pot cavity before use if the appliance has not been in use for some time.
  • Clean the pot cavity soon after use to avoid inconvenience in cleaning in the future. The oil produced during cooking will corrode the pot cavity, affect the heating of the appliance and even change the taste of the food when left for an extended period.
  • Do not wipe the appliance housing with a harsh detergent or any corrosive/volatile chemical solvents to avoid damage to the unit.
