OPERATION

Power ON/OFF

  1. Press and hold the power switch for 2 seconds to turn the speaker on. The LED status indicator will be flashing blue, and the power LED indicator will be flashing white.
  2. Press and hold the power switch for 2 seconds to turn the speaker off. The LED status indicator will turn off.

Sources

The speaker can play audio output from 3 different sources/modes:

  • Bluetooth
  • microSD card
  • AUX

Mode switchingTo switch between any of the 3 modes, press the mode switching button repeatedly until you reach the desired mode.

Bluetooth Mode

This mode allows you to connect to any Bluetooth device to the speaker for audio output.

  1. Power the speaker on. If this is your first time using the speaker the LED status indicator will then be flashing blue, signaling the speaker is ready to pair with your device. If the device has been used before in a different mode, press the mode switching button to switch between the modes until you see the LED status indicator flashing blue.
  2. Switch on the Bluetooth on your device. Ensure your device is set to be visible to all nearby Bluetooth devices.
  3. Search for “KAXP8SPKBKA” on your device and tap to connect. If you are unable to find the speaker, try refreshing the list of available devices on your device. If the connection is successful, the LED status indicator will stop flashing and turn to a solid blue. Any media you play from your device now will have its audio emit from the speaker via Bluetooth.
  4. To disconnect your device, press and hold the MFB button for 2 seconds.
Notes:

  • When reconnecting your device in the future, switch on the Bluetooth on your device then power the speaker on. It will automatically reconnect to its last paired device.
  • If the speaker stops playing, press and hold the MFB button to reset, power off and restart the speaker.

If you do not wish the speaker to automatically pair to your device when the Bluetooth mode is turned on, the pairing record can be erased by pressing and holding mode switching button down for 5 seconds. The speaker will power off when the pairing record has been erased successfully.

microSD card mode

This mode allows you to play the audio output of files from a microSD card.

  1. Lift the protective covering located on the side of the speaker to reveal the microSD card slot.
  2. Insert a microSD card, chip side facing down into the microSD card slot located on the side of the speaker.
  3. If successfully inserted and recognized, the speaker will then sound a voice prompt and start playing MP3 files from the microSD card.If no voice prompt is heard and files do not start playing, eject the microSD card and try re-inserting it into the speaker
Note:

The speaker is compatible with microSD cards up to 64GB in storage.

AUX mode

This mode allows you to play audio output from a device via the 3.5mm audio cable.

  1. Connect one end of the included 3.5mm audio cable into the 3.5mm headphone jack of your device.
  2. Connect the other end into the AUX in port. Any media you play from your device now will have its audio emit from the speaker.

Button Controls

  • Press the MFB button to pause or play.
  • Press the “-” to decrease volume.
  • Press the “+” to increase volume.
  • Press and hold the “-’’ to play the previous track.
  • Press and hold the “+” to play the next track.

Calls

The speaker features an in-built microphone and has the capability to answer, reject, end, and redial calls.

  • To answer an incoming call, press the MFB button.
  • To reject an incoming call, press and hold the MFB button for 2 seconds.
  • To end a call, press the MFB button again.
  • To redial the most recent number in your call log, press the MFB button twice.
Note:

Some mobile phones default to answering calls via their own device speaker. Refer to the instructions of your phone to enable calls to be answered using external devices..

Charging

Charging is required if the power LED indicator lights up red. The speaker can be charged by connecting the USB Type-C end of the charging cable into the USB Type-C charging port, with the other end plugged into a powered device with a USB port.

Once the power LED indicator turns off, the speaker is fully charged.

  • The charging voltage and current is 5V/2.4A. Ensure any adapter used with this charger is correctly rated to match.
  • The battery performance may decrease after extended use. This is normal for all devices powered by rechargeable batteries.

True Wireless Stereo (TWS) using two speakers

You can connect to two XP8 speakers simultaneously for a stronger stereo and surround sound effect.

  1. Ensure Bluetooth is turned off on your connecting device.
  2. Place the speakers side by side and power them both on.
  3. Press and hold the mode switching button down on either one of the speakers for 2 seconds. A sound prompt will play to confirm both speakers are preparing to enter TWS pairing mode.
  4. Wait for the LED status indicator on the left channel speaker flashes, and the LED status indicator on the right channel speaker turns a solid blue. Once this happens, the TWS connection is successful.
  5. Switch on the Bluetooth on your device. Ensure your device is set to be visible to all nearby Bluetooth devices.
  6. Search for “KAXP8SPKBKA” on your device and tap to connect. If you are unable to find the speaker, try refreshing the list of available devices on your device. The LED status indicators on both speakers will turn a solid blue if the connection is successful.
  7. To disconnect, press and hold the mode switching button down for 2 seconds.

If previously connected, the two speakers can automatically re connect to each other with TWS for future use. If you do not wish for both speakers to automatically re-connect, press and hold the mode switching button down for 5 seconds. This will reset and restart the speaker.

Notes:

  • The speakers must enter TWS pairing mode prior to connecting to any Bluetooth device. The TWS function will not work otherwise.
  • When using the TWS connection between speakers, only the left channel speaker will have the function of the calling controls.
