This HDMI to USB 3.1 Video Capture Device is designed to capture video and audio from any HDMI source device. Providing recording capabilities up to 1080p at 60Hz, allowing you to capture even the smallest of details with minimal motion blur and artifacting.

Installation

  1. Connect the Video Capture Device to an available USB Type A port on your host device. Please ensure this a USB 3.0 or greater port for HD Video Capture.
  2. Drivers will automatically be installed without any user intervention. For windows 7 hosts, please visit your local Lindy website to download drivers.
  3. Connect an HDMI cable from a source device to the input on the capture device.

To confirm correct installation, go to device manager of system information. Listed under Universal Serial Bus Controller will be a “USB Composite Device”, this is the video capture device and confirms installation has been successful.

 

Operation

This HDMI to USB 3.1 Video Capture Device can be used with many free, and premium recording software packages, to use, simply open your preferred software and select “USB Video Device” or similar from the list of available sources.

Troubleshooting

The Video Capture Device has not been detected by the OS.

If you cannot see the device in your hardware manager, then the operating system has not made a connection to the device. Check all connections, if installation is still unsuccessful, visit your local Lindy website for the latest drivers.

Video capture or playback has lost frames.

Check your CPU load when capturing if this is too high it will cause graphical errors. To resolve, adjust the capture settings, specifically relating to resolution and / or compression.

No Video can be seen.

Check the source does not have any content protection like HDCP, this device will not allow the recording of any copy protected content. If no, please check all connections between the host, capture device and source.

Video resolution is low.

Check that the USB port in use supports 5Gbps bandwidth.
