STITCH EXPLANATIONSM1 (make 1) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal strand lying between needles and placing it onto the left needle. Knit this new stitch through the back loop – 1 st increased.

ssk (slip, slip, knit) Slip next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to right needle; insert left needle into fronts of these 2 sts and knit them tog – 1 st decreased.

TECHNIQUE EXPLANATIONS

CABLE CAST ON*Insert right hand needle between first 2 sts on left hand needle, wrap yarn and pull through (as if knitting a st), transfer new st to left hand needle; rep from * for desired number of sts.

NOTES

  1. Pullover is worked in one piece from neck downwards.
  2. Piece is divided at underarms then body and sleeves are worked separately – the body in rnds and the sleeves in rows.
  3. When working in stranded colorwork, carry yarn color not in use loosely across WS of piece.
