MATERIALS

  • LION BRAND® TRUBOO (Art. #837)#100 White 6 balls
  • LION BRAND® crochet hook G-6 (4 mm)
  • LION BRAND® stitch markers
  • LION BRAND® large-eyed blunt needle

GAUGE

20 sts + 12 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern of Rows 2-5.BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

NOTES

  1. Five Triangles are worked separately, then sewn together to make Scarf.
  2. Each Triangle is worked back and forth in rows and shaped with increases.
  3. Edging is worked around the outside edge of the seamed Triangles to complete the Scarf.

TRIANGLES (make 5)

Wrap yarn around index finger. Insert hook into ring on finger, yarn over, and draw up a loop. Carefully slip ring from finger and work the stitches of Rnd 1 into the ring.Row 1 (RS): Ch 2 (does not count as a st), work 7 dc in ringGently but firmly, pull tail to tighten center of ring.Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in next 2 sts, 3 sc in center st and place a marker in the 2nd (middle) sc of 3 sc just made, sc in next 2 sts, 2 scin last st ­ you will have 11 sc in this row (5 sc on each side of marked center sc).Row 3: Ch 2 (does not count as a st), turn, (dc, ch 1, dc) in first st, * ch 1, sk next st, dc in next st; rep from * to marked st, ch 1, dc in marked st and move marker to dc just made, ch 1, ** dc in next st, ch 1, sk next st; rep from ** to last st, (dc, ch 1, dc) in last st ­ 17 sts (4 dc and 4 ch-1 sps on each side of marked center dc).Row 4: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, sc in each dc and ch-1 sp to marked st, 3 sc in marked st and move marker to 2nd (middle) sc of 3 sc just made, sc in each dc and ch-1 sp to last st, 2 sc in last st ­ 21 sc (10 sc on each side of marked center sc).Row 5: Ch 2 (does not count as a st), turn, 3 dc in first st, dc in each st to marked st, 3 dc in marked st and move marker to 2nd (middle) dc of 3 dc just made, dc in each st to last st, 3 dc in last st ­ 27 dc.Rep Rows 2-5 until Triangle measures about 13 in. FINISHING

Step 1: With WS of all 5 Triangles facing you, align them like thisStep 2: Attach together with removeable st markers or pinsStep 3: With yarn threaded into blunt needle and following diagram, sew Triangles togetherEdgingFrom RS, join yarn with a sl st in any corner, ch 1, sc evenly around outside edge of Scarf, working 3 sc at each corner; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends. Wet block to finished measurements.
