  • LION BRAND® PIMA COTTON (Art. #762) #099 Vintage 8 balls
  • LION BRAND® large-eyed blunt needle

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS

Circular knitting needle size 9 (5.5 mm), 29 in. (73.5 cm) long

GAUGE

  • 16 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) over Diamond Brocade pattern.
  • BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

NOTES

  1. Blanket is worked in one piece, back and forth in rows.
  2. Blanket is worked in a Diamond Brocade pattern. The beginning and ending borders are worked in rib.
  3. A circular needle is used to accommodate the number of stitches. Work back and forth in rows on circular needle as if working with straight needles.

BLANKET

Beginning Border

Cast on 136 sts.

  • Row 1: *K1, p1; rep from * across.
  • Row 2: K the knit sts and p the purl sts.
  • Rows 3 and 4: Rep Row 2.

Diamond Brocade pattern

  • Row 1 (RS): *P1, k7; rep from * to end of row.
  • Row 2: *K1, p5, k1, p1; rep from * to end of row.
  • Row 3: *K2, p1, k3, p1, k1; rep from * to end of row.
  • Row 4: *P2, k1, p1, k1, p3, rep from * to end of row.
  • Row 5: *K4, p1, k3; rep from * to end of row.
  • Row 6: Rep Row 4.
  • Row 7: Rep Row 3.
  • Row 8: Rep Row 2.

Rep Rows 1-8 of Diamond Brocade pattern until piece measures about 68 in. (172.5 cm) from beginning, end with a repeat of Row 8 as the last row you work.

Ending Border

  • Rep Rows 1-4 of Beginning Border.
  • Bind off.

FINISHING

Weave in ends.
