Commercial Gas Water Heater

Models CP 180-85; CP 199-85; CP 199-100; CP 270-100; CP 360-100

The domestic hot water supply shall be provided by a LOCHINVAR COPPER-PAK PACKAGED WATER HEATING SYSTEM Model Number CP(N,L)_____-______. The System shall consist of a Copper Fin CW Series Water Heater, a jacketed and insulated Lock‑Temp Storage Tank and all bronze circulating pump. The components shall be factory assembled as a unit with the water heater mounted on top of the tank, pre-piped, pressure tested and ready for installation. Components shall be as follows:

The WATER HEATER shall be a LOCHINVAR COPPERFIN® CW SERIES, Model CW(N,L)____________having an input rating of __________Btu/hr, a recovery capacity of _______ gallons per hour at a 100oF rise and shall be operated on (Natural Gas) (LP Gas).

The water containing section shall be of a “Fin Tube” design, with straight pure copper tubes having extruded integral fins spaced seven (7) fins per inch. The tubes shall be securely rolled into a one piece, glass lined, cast iron headers. There shall be no bolts, gaskets or “O” rings in the header configuration. There shall be free access to either end of the heat exchanger for purposes of inspection, cleaning, or repair. The heat exchanger shall be mounted on a stress free jacket assembly in order to provide a “free‑floating” design, able to withstand the effects of thermal shock. Each CW model shall carry an ASME “HLW” stamp for 160 psi working pressure and shall be National Board listed. The complete heat exchanger assembly shall carry a three (3) year limited warranty against failure caused by defective workmanship or material

The combustion chamber shall be enclosed with a light weight, high temperature resistant, “Loch‑Heat™” ceramic fiberboard insulation which shall be modular for ease of replacement in sections. The burners shall be constructed of stainless steel and fire on a horizontal plane.

The WATER HEATER shall be constructed with a heavy gauge galvanized steel jacket assembly, pre-painted on both sides with a minimum dry film thickness of 0.70 mills. The unit shall have a built‑in draft diverter contained entirely within the jacket, and requiring no additional external draft hood devices.

The WATER HEATER shall be certified and listed by CSA International under the latest edition of the applicable harmonized ANSI Z21.10.3 test standard for the US and Canada. The WATER HEATER shall comply with the energy efficiency requirements of the latest edition of the ASHRAE 90.1 Standard. The WATER HEATER shall operate at a minimum of 82% thermal efficiency.

Standard operating controls and equipment shall include an immersion thermostat, manual reset high limit control, automatic reset high limit control, pump delay, combination gas valve with redundant seats, main and pilot gas regulators and manual shut-off. An ASME rated temperature and pressure relief valve shall be installed in the water heater outlet.

The WATER HEATER shall be mounted on top of the storage tank, pre-piped to the tank with copper pipe and equipped with a factory installed 1/6 HP circulating pump to ensure scale‑free heater performance. The pump shall be all bronze and provided for operation on 120 volt, 60 cycle, 1 phase power supply. The assembled heater shall have a 1-1/2″ copper cold water inlet connection and a 1-1/” hot water copper outlet connection.

The STORAGE TANK shall be a vertical Lochinvar Lock‑ Temp™ “Energy Saver” tank having a storage capacity of (85) (100) gallons. The tank shall be constructed with a baffled inlet designed to receive all circulation from the water heater and eliminate turbulence in the tank. The baffled tank shall supply 80% of tank capacity without a drop in outlet temperature, regardless of rate of draw.

The STORAGE TANK shall be constructed in accordance with standard construction requirements. The tank shall be designed to withstand a hydrostatic test pressure of two times the working pressure without leakage. The STORAGE TANK shall have a working pressure of 150 PSI. The tank shall be furnished with the following connections, two circulating connections pre-piped to the water heater, one 1″ NPT relief valve connection, one 3/4″ NPT aquastat opening and one 3/4″ NPT drain connection. The tank shall be furnished with a handhole for ease a inspection, clean out and service. The interior of the STORAGE TANK shall be glass lined and fired to 1600o F to ensure a molecular fusing of glass and steel, furnished with a magnesium anode and carry a five (5) year limited warranty.

The Lock‑Temp STORAGE TANK shall be constructed with a heavy gauge steel jacket assembly finished with acrylic enamel. The STORAGE TANK shall be completely encased in a minimum of 2″ thick, high density polyurethane R-16 foam insulation to meet the energy efficiency requirements of the latest edition of the ASHRAE 90.1 Energy Efficiency Standard.

Maximum unit dimensions shall be: Length ________inches, Width ________inches and Height __________ inches. Maximum unit weight shall be_________pounds.

The Firing Control System shall be _____________ (Options Below). Prefix “F” denotes water heater standard On-Off Firing.
