IDENTIFICATION OF CONTROLS/CONNECTIONS

FRONT PANEL

  1. FUNCITON SELECTOR : CHOOSE BETWEEN RADIO. CASSETTE(6000) CD PLAYER (7000) OR AUX INPUT.
  2. LCD DISPLAY : SHOWS CLOCK/FREQUENCY, PRESET, BAND CHOICE, PRESENCE OF FM STEREO.
  3. PRESET STATION MEMORY 1-5 : PUSH TO SELECT PREVIOUSLY STORED STATIONS.
  4. RADIO BAND SELECTOR: CHOOSE AM, FM OR WEATHERBAND.
  5. SPEAKERS SELECTOR : CHOOSE EITHER SAKERS A. SPEAKERS B OR ALL SPEAKERS A+B.
  6. TUNE UP/DOWN : MOMENTARILY PUSH TO CHANGE AM-FM TO NEXT FREQUENCY STEP (UP OR DOWN) OR HOLD A FEW SPECONDS TO AUTOMATICALLY SEEK AN ACTIVE STATION.IN WEATHERBAND, STEPS TO NEXT OF SEVEN CHANNELS UP OR DOWN BUT NOT SEEK.
  7. MEMORY: PUSH BEFORE PUSHING PRESET 1-5 TO STORE A NEW STATION IN THAT PRESET. REPEAT FOR EACH NEW STATION TO BE STORED.
  8. PRESET EQUALIZER ; FOUR PRESET EQ TONE PATTERNS ARE AVAILABLE. UPON TURNING UNIT ON. LED’S WILL BE OFF AND THE EO WILL BE IN FLAT RESPONSE, OR SELECT ANOTHER BY PUSHING CONTEMPORARY. CLASSIC OR JAZZ TONE PATTERNS (ITS LED WILL LIGHT UP) TO RETURN TO TONE FLAT. MOMENTARILY TURN OFF THE POWER SWITCH.
  9. 3.5MM AUX INPUT : FOR USE OF A PERSONAL CASSETTE OR CD PLAYER INTO FRONT JACK OR TV. VCR. VIDEO GAME SOUND OR OTHER DEVICE WHEN USING THE RCA JACKS ON BACK PANEL. USE OF THE FRONT JACK WILL OVERRIDE WHAT IS PLUGGED INTO THE REAR JACKS.
  10. 3.5MM HEADPHONE JACK : LISTEN TO 6000/7000 THROUGH HEADPHONES. USE SHUTS OFF SPEAKERS FOR PRIVACY.
  11. POWER OFF: TURN CLOCKWISE TO TURN UNIT ON, OR ADJUST VOLUME LEVELS. MOMENTARILY PUSH TO CHANGE FREQUENCY TO TIME IN THE RADIO FUNCTION OR HOLD IN TO ENABLE CLOCK SET MODE (SEE CLOCK SET SECTION).CASSETTE (6000 ONLY)
  12. CASSETTE COMPARTMENT: TO OPEN DOOR, PUSH STOP/EJECT KEY. INSERT TAPE. PUSH CASSETTE DOOR TO CLOSE.
  13. MODE : PUSH IN TO PLAY EACH SIDE ONCE THEN SHUTS OFF OR RELEASE TO CONTINUOUSLY PLAY NON STOP.
  14. PLAY : PUSH TO START CASSETTE PLAYING AFTER SETTING FUNCTION SELECTOR TO TAPE.
  15. REWIND : PUSH WHEN STOPPED TO REWIND THE TAPE FROM THE RIGHT TO LEFT SPOOL. WHEN COMPLETELY REWOUND, IT WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY PLAY. THE PLAY BUTTOM MUST THEN BE PUSHED.
  16. FAST FORWARD : PUSH TO ADVANCE TAPE FROM LEFT TO RIGHT SPOOL. WHEN COMPLETELY ADVANCED. IT WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY PLAY. THE PLAY BUTTON MUST THEN BE PUSHED.
  17. STOP/EJECT : PUSH TO STOP CASSETTE FUNCTION. PUSH WHEN STOPPED TO OPEN CASSETTE DOOR.
  18. PROGRAM : PUSH TO CHANGE TAPE DIRECTION OR TO PLAY OTHER SIDE OF TAPE CARTRIDGE.COMPACT DISC (7000 ONLY)
  19. DISC COMPARTMENT : PUSH DOOR AND RELEASE TO OPEN. INSERT 1 DISC LABEL SIDE OUT. PUSH DOOR AGAIN TO CLOSE. DISPLAY WILL SHOW TOTAL TRACKS AND PLAYING TIME OF THE DISC.
  20. PLAY/PAUSE : PUSH TO START CD PLAYING AFTER SELECTING CD WITH FUNCTION SELECTOR, TRACK AND TIME OF PLAY WILL SHOW IN DISPLAY. PUSH WHEN PLAYING CD TO MOMENTARILY PAUSE THE PLAY AND THE LCD WILL BLINK. PUSH AGAIN TO RESUME PLAY FROM THE POINT OF PAUSE.
  21. STOP: PUST TO STOP CD PLAY COMPLETELY. TOTAL TRACKS AND PLAY TIME WILL SHOW IN DISPLAY.
  22. ← → (SKIP UP/DOWN) : MOMENTARILY PUSHING → WHEN PLAYING WILL ADVANCE TO NEXT TRACK. REPEATED PUSHING WILL ADVANCE TO OTHER TRACKS AS DESIRED. HOLDING → BUTTON DOWN WILL ADVANCE ONLY IN THE TRACK PLAYING. MOMENTARILY PUSHING ← WILL START THE TRACK OVER FROM THE BEGINNING. PUSHING TWICE WILL BACK UP TO PRECEDING TRACK. REPEATED PUSHING WILL BACK UP TO OTHER PRECEDING TRACKS AS DESIRED.NOTE: After pushing the stop button, please wait approximately 5 seconds before opening CD door.REAR PANEL

TO SET CLOCK

  1. TURN ON UNIT.
  2. PUSH VOLUME KNOB IN UNTIL TIME DISPLAY HOURS BLINK. RELEASE.
  3. USE TUNE UP/DOWN BUTTON TO SET DESIRED HOURS.
  4. MOMENTARILY PUSH VOLUME KNOB. MINUTES WILL NOW BLINK.
  5. USE TUNE UP/DOWN BUTTON TO SET DESIRED MINUTES.
  6. MOMENTARILY PUSH VOLUME KNOB. DISPLAY WILL STOP BLINKING AND TIME WILL BE SET.

WEATHER BAND

THERE ARE SEVEN WEATHERBAND CHANNELS PROGRAMMED INTO THE 6000/7000. THE FREQUENCIES DO NOT DISPLAY. ONLY A CHANNEL NUMBER. THE MOST COMMON ARE IN CH 01.02.03.THE ACTUAL FREQUENCIES ARE :

CH 01 162.550 MHZCH 02 162.400 MHZCH 03 162.475 MHZCH 04 162.425 MHZCH 05 162,450 MHZCH06 162.500 MHZCH 07 162 525 MH7

COMPACT DISCNO DISC WILL SHOW IN DISPLAY IF PLAY PUSHED WITH NO DISC INSERTED IN PLAYER.

CASSETTE PRECAUTIONSDO NOT USE 120 MINUTE CASSETTES IN THIS DECK . CLEAN AFTER 60 HOURS WITH COMMERCIAL CASSETTE CLEANING CARTRIDGE.

  • DO NOT CONNECT ANY SPEAKER ( – ) TO GROUND OR BATTERY NEGATIVE.
  • DO NOT CONNECT ANY SPEAKER ( – ) TO ANY OTHER SPEAKER ( – )
  • EACH SPEAKER MIST HAVE ITS OWN PAIR OF WIRES AND NOT TO BE SHARED WITH ANY OTHERS.
  • 3 WIRE HEADPHONE CIRCUITS REQUIRE A FLOATING GROUND ADAPTER WHEN CONNECTED TO THE SPEAKER WIRES.
  • SPEAKERS MUST HAVE A MINIMUM IMPEDANCE OF 4 OHMS.
