Connect powerConnect the power cord to the wall socket.Caution · Risk of product damage! Make sure that the powersupply voltage corresponds to the voltage printed on the back or the underside of the unit.· Risk of electrical shock! Before you plug the AC poweradaptor, make sure that the adaptor plug converter is fixed securely. When you unplug the AC power adaptor, always pull the plug, never the cord.· Before you connect the AC power adaptor, make surethat you have completed all the other connections.

When the remote control isnot used for long periods, remove the batteries.· Batteries contain chemical substances and should bedisposed of properly.To insert the remote control batteries: 1 Open the batterycompar tment.2 Insert the supplied 2 AAA batteries with correct polarity (+/-) as indicated.3 Close the battery compar tment.Power onPress . » When the unit is turned on, it is tuned to the last selected source.To switch to standby mode, press again. » The display panel is dimmed. » The time and date (if set) are displayed.Note · If the system is idle for 15 minutes, the radio will switchto standby mode automatically.

2 Press the navigation buttons to choose the menu options.Perform initial setupFollow the instructions below to configure some basic settings.To listen to the internet radio, you need to set up a Wi-Fi connection first.Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) is a standard created by WiFi Alliance for easy establishment of secure wireless home networks. If your wireless router supports WPS, you can quickly and securely connect the radio to the router through one of the two setup methods: Push Button Configuration (PBC), or Personal Identification Number (PIN). For those that do not support WPS, you have another option to connect the radio to the wireless router.Note· Before you connect to a network, familiarize yourselfwith the network router.· Make sure that your home Wi-Fi network is enabled.1 When the product is powered on for the first time, the display will show up.

To switch to the main display:1 Press . » The display panel will show as below:

2 Press . 3 [Language] will be displayed.· Press the navigation buttons to choose your preferred language.4 [Privacy notice] will be displayed. · Press [Select] or [OK] to confirm.5 [Setup wizard] will be displayed. · Follow the instructions below to configure some basic settings.6 When [Setup wizard] is displayed, · Press the navigation buttons to select [YES] and start the setup. · Press [Select] or [(OK] to confirm. If you select [NO], you will be asked to run the wizard next time.7 When [12/24 hour format] is displayed, · Press the navigation buttons to select 12 or 24 hour format, then press [Select] or [(OK] to confirm.8 When [Auto update] list is displayed, · Press the navigation buttons to choose your preferred time update method, then press [Select] or [OK] to confirm.[Update from DAB] : Synchronize time with DAB stations. [Update from FM] : Synchronize time with FM stations. [Update from Network] : Synchronize time with Internet Radio stations. » If [Update from Network] is selected, repeat Step6 to set time zone, and then repeat Step 6 to set daylight saving time and to set if the product will keep network always connected. [No update] : Deactivate time synchronization. » If [No update] is selected, repeat Step 7 to set date and time.9 When [Set timezone] is displayed, · Press the navigation buttons to select the timezone you are located.

10 When [Daylight savings] is displayed, · Press the navigation buttons to select [YES] to use daylight saving. · Press [OK] to confirm. · If you select [NO], you will be asked to run the wizard next time.11 When [Network settings] is displayed, · Press the navigation buttons to select [YES] to keep the network connected. · Press [OK] to confirm. » The radio begins to search for wireless networks automatically.» A list of available Wi-Fi networks appears.12 When [SSID] is displayed, · Press the navigation buttons to select the network. · Press [OK] to select an option to connect your wireless router.WPS Setup Push the WPS button on your wireless router. Press [Select] on the product to continue. · [Push Button]: Select this option if yourwireless router supports WPS and PBC setup method.You are prompted to press the connect button on your router and then press [OK] to continue. · [Pin]: Select this option if your wireless router supports WPS and PIN setup method.The radio generated an 8-digit code number that you can enter into the router. · [Skip WPS]: Select this option if your wireless router does not support WPS.You are prompted to enter the key for your Wi-Fi network.13 As instructed on the display panel, press WPS button or enter the pin on your wireless router, or enter the key to connect to your network (The options displayed depend on the type of your network and network protection used).

· When entering the key of the network,to select a character, press the navigation buttons, then press [OK] to confirm.

4 Listen to the Internet radio

· To cancel, press the navigation buttons to [CANCEL], then press [OK] to confirm.· To delete your entry, press the navigation buttons to [BKSP], then press [OK] to confirm.· To exit the process, press [MENU]. If the network is established, [Connected] is displayed.14 When [Setup wizard completed] appears, press [OK] to exit the setting.Note · For some Wi-Fi routers, you may need to hold theWPS button for Wi-Fi connection. See the user manuals of the specific routers for detail.· To run the setup wizard again, select [System settings]> [Setup wizard] menu (see the Chapter “Use system settings menu”).

Note· Make sure that your home Wi-Fi network is enabled.The radio can play thousands of radio stations from around the world through the Internet connection.Use menu in Internet radio mode station listOnce the Internet connection is established, you will find a list of stations displayed. Select one to start broadcasting. 1 Select Internet radio mode.» The radio starts connecting to the previously connected network, and then tunes to your last listened Internet radio station.» If network connection had not been established before, the radio starts searching for wireless networks automatically (Refer to the selection “Get started” > “Perform initial setup” or “Use system settings menu” > “Adjust network settings” to establish network connection).2 Press to access the main menu. 3 Press the navigation buttons to choose themenu options:

[Search]: Search for Internet radio stations.To search, press the navigation buttons to enter a keyword by selecting characters, then press [SELECT]. [Location]: Browse Internet radio stations by location. [Popular]:Tune to the most popular stations on the Internet. [Discover]:Tune to discover list for Internet radio.Store Internet radio stationsNote· You can store a maximum of 20 Internet radio stations.1 In Internet radio mode, tune to an Internet radio station.2 Press and hold [PRESET] for 2 seconds. » The preset station list is displayed.3 Press the navigation buttons to select a preset number, then press [SELECT] to confirm. » [Preset stored] is displayed. » The station is stored in the selected position.

6 Listen to DAB radioTune to DAB radio stationsThe first time you select DAB radio mode, or if the station list is empty, the radio performs a full scan automatically. 1 Press to access the main menu. 2 Press the navigation buttons to choose themenu options, then select [DAB] mode. » [Scan] is displayed. » The radio scans and stores all the DABradio stations automatically, and then broadcasts the first available station. » The station list is memorized on the radio. Next time when you turn on the radio, the station scan will not take place.To tune to a station from the available station listIn DAB mode, press the navigation buttons to navigate through the available DAB stations.Tip· The stations may change from time to time.To update thestation list, select the [Scan] menu to perform a full scan.

Store DAB radio stationsNote · New stations and services are added in DAB broadcastsfrom time to time.To make new DAB stations and services available, perform the scan regularly.· You can store a maximum of 20 DAB radio stations .10 EN

[Station list]: Display all DAB radio stations. If no station is found, the radio starts to scan DAB stations and add them to the station list.[Scan]: Scan and store all available DAB+ radio stations.[Manual tune]:Tune to a DAB+ station manually.[Prune invalid]: Remove invalid stations from the station list.[DRC]: Compress the dynamic range of a radio signal, so that the volume of quiet sounds is increased, and the volume of the loud sounds is reduced.

[Station order]: Enable you to define how the stations are arranged when scrolling the station list. [System settings]: Adjust system settings. [Main Menu]: Access main menu (See the Chapter “Use main menu”).3 To select an option, press [SELECT] or [OK]. 4 If a sub-option is available, repeat steps 2-3.· To exit the menu, press [MENU] / [INFO] again.[Prune invalid] » [Yes]: Remove all the invalid stations fromthe station list.» [No]: Return to the previous menu.[DRC] » [DRC high]: Switch DRC on to a high level(the default option recommended for noisy environments). » [DRC low]: Switch DRC on to a low level. » [DRC off]: Switch DRC off.[Station order] » [Alphanumeric]: Arrange the stations inalphabetical order (default setting). » [Ensemble]: List groups of stations that arebroadcast together on the same ensemble (I.e.: BBC or South Wales local).Note· If no button is pressed within 15 seconds, the menu will exit.Display DAB+ informationWhile listening to DAB radio, press [MENU] / [INFO] repeatedly to display various information (if available). · Station name · Dynamic Label Segment (DLS) · Signal Strength · Program type (PTY) · Ensemble Name · frequency · Signal error rate · Bit rate and audio status · Codec · Time and date

If you listen to an FM station with RDS signal, an RDS icon and the station name will be displayed. 1 Tune to an RDS station. 2 Press [MENU] / [INFO] repeatedlyto display various RDS information (if available): · Station name · Radio text messages · Program type · Frequency · Date

8 Play from Bluetooth enabled devices1 Press to select the Bluetooth source using the remote control. » [BT] is displayed. » The Bluetooth LED indicator flashes blue.2 On your device that supports Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), enable Bluetooth and search for Bluetooth devices that can be paired (refer to the user manual of your Bluetooth device).3 Select “Philips M2805” on your Bluetooth enabled device and if necessary input `0000′ as the pairing password. » If you fail to search for “Philips M2805” or cannot pair with this product, press and hold for more than 2 seconds to enter pairing mode.» After successful pairing and connection, the Bluetooth LED indicator turns solid blue.4 Play audio on the connected device. » Audio streams from your Bluetooth enabled device to this product.To disconnect the Bluetooth-enabled device, deactivate Bluetooth on your device.Note· Compatibility with all Bluetooth devices is not guaranteed. · Any obstacle between this unit and your Bluetooth enableddevice can reduce the operational range.· The effective operation range between this unit and yourBluetooth enabled device is approximately 10 meters (33 feet).· This unit can memorize up to 8 previously connectedBluetooth devices.

[Auto-check setting]: Select whether to check new software versions periodically. [Check now]: Check new software versions immediately.Note · If the radio detects that new software is available, it will askif you want to go ahead with an update. If you agree, the new software will be downloaded and installed. Before the software upgrade, make sure that the radio is connected to a stable mains power connection. Disconnecting power during a software update may damage the product.

Set clock and alarmThis product can be used as an alarm clock. 1 In working mode, press [MENU] to accessthe top menu. 2 Press the navigation buttons to scrollthrough the menu options. 3 Select [Alarms].

» If no clock is set, a message will prompt you to set.4 Press [OK] to continue. » The day digit blinks.5 Press the navigation buttons to set the day, then press [OK] to continue. » The month digit blinks.6 Repeat Step 5 to set the month, year and time respectively. » The [Alarm 1: off [00:00]] and [Alarm 2: off: off [00:00]] options are displayed.7 Repeat Step 5 to select [Alarm 1: off [00:00]] > [Enable] or [Off].8 Repeat Step 5 to activate or deactivate the alarm timer:[Off]: Deactivate the alarm timer. [Daily]:The alarm sounds everyday. [Once]:The alarm sounds only once. [Weekends]:The alarm sounds each Saturday and Sunday. [Weekdays]:The alarm sounds each day from Mondays to Fridays.9 Repeat Step 5 to select [Time], then set the alarm time.10 Repeat Step 5 to select [Mode], then set the alarm source.[Buzzer]: Select buzzer as alarm source.
