When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING KEEP AWAY FROM WATER

DANGER – As with most electrical appliances, electrical parts are electrically live even when the switch is off.

  • If an appliance falls into water, “unplug it” immediately. Do not reach into the water.

For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your electrical contractor for advice.

BASIC HAIR CARE INSTRUCTIONSFor optimal results, shampoo and condition your hair prior to using the curling tong, then dry your hair thoroughly and make sure that it is tangle free.

HOW TO USE YOUR REMINGTON® INFINITE PROTECT CURLING TONGCarefully place the curling tong on a flat, hard, heat resistant surface ensuring the barrel does not come into contact with the surface.

Plug in to any household (120/240V AC) power outlet. Press the power on/off button.

The digital temperature display will flash indicating that the curling tong is heating. When the temperature of the tong has reached the temperature selected the LED light will remain steady. Press the “+” temperature increase button to increase the temperature. Press the “-” to decrease the temperature. The lowest temperature setting is 140°C, and the highest temperature setting is 210°C. The curling tong will be ready to use in 30 seconds depending on the temperature selected.

Take extra care when using the curling tong, as it can get very hot. It is important to establish the correct temperature for your hair type prior to use to prevent damage to your hair. If in doubt, start with a low temperature setting first using the variable temperature button and increase the heat gradually.

NOTE: The Infinite Protect Curling Tong is not suitable for use on synthetic wigs or hair extensions. Use the cool tip if you need to get a better grip of the unit without having to grip the heated barrel. The swivel cord ensures you can turn the unit easily without getting tangled.

RECOMMENDED TEMPERATURE

AUTOMATIC VOLTAGE ADJUSTMENTThe Infinite Protect curling tong features automatic voltage adjustment for international dual voltage (120/240V) use. Plug the unit into any domestic power outlet and it will adjust automatically to the voltage being supplied.

NOTE: Some countries will require the use of a plug adaptor that is not included with your curling tong.

TURBO BOOST FUNCTIONFor quick touch ups of stubborn, hard to style sections. The turbo boost function boosts the temperature to 210°C.Hold the “+” button for 2 seconds to operate.

Caution: the highest temperature is not suitable for every hair type. If you plan to use this curling tong on the boost setting of 210°C please test on a small section of your hair first.

TEMPERATURE LOCKSet the desired temperature by pressing +/- buttons and lock the switch settings by pressing the ‘-‘ button for 2 seconds.A ‘padlock’ symbol will appear on the temperature display. To unlock the switch settings, press and hold the ‘-‘ button again for 2 seconds.

MEMORY FUNCTIONEach time you use the product it will automatically set itself to the last temperature used.

AUTOMATIC SAFETY SHUT OFFIf the curling tong is not used for a period of 60 minutes (temperature is constant) it will automatically shut off.

TO MAKE CURLS

  • Separate small sections of hair (about 5cms wide) and place the ends of one section under the clamp.
  • Hold at a vertical angle, and then rotate the barrel, rolling hair up towards the roots trying not to overlap the hair.
  • Use the cool tip if you need to get a better grip of the unit without having to grip the heated barrel and clamping tong. The swivel cord ensures you can turn the unit easily without getting tangled, when in nuse. The tightness of the curl is determined by how tightly you wrap the hair around the tong and how long you hold the tong in place.
  • Hold the tong for 10 to 20 seconds, depending on the texture and length of your hair.
  • To remove the tong from the curl, simply press the tong grip and remove the tong from the curl. The advanced ceramic coated barrel will ensure that the hair slides smoothly from the tong.
  • After removing the tong from your hair, wrap the ringlet around your finger and secure it with a bobby pin.
  • Allow the curls to cool fully before applying any styling product, as this ensures a long-lasting curl. When the curls have cooled (allow approximately 5 – 10 minutes) unpin and comb through with your fingers.
  • Complete your style with a finishing balm or spray.

MAINTENANCE

This curling tong is designed for household use and is virtually maintenance free.

If cleaning becomes necessary, disconnect the curling tong from the power outlet, allow it to cool, and then wipe the exterior surface with a soft damp cloth.

Do not immerse the appliance in any liquid. Do not use an abrasive cleaning fluid or material to clean the ceramic barrel as this will scratch the surface.

STORAGE

When not in use, always unplug the curling tong from the power outlet. Allow the curling tong to cool and store out of the reach of children in a safe dry place. Never wrap the power cord around the curling tong as this will cause the cord to wear prematurely and break. Handle the cord carefully for long life and avoid jerking, twisting or straining especially at the power plug and curling tong connections. If the cord becomes twisted in use, periodically straighten it.

WARNING: Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water.

As with all electrical appliances, the power cord must be regularly checked for wear and tear. Immediately cease using this product if the power cord shows any signs of damage.

This product conforms to radio frequency interference requirements. Any product purchased and used commercially carries a limited 90 Day Warranty.
