420162 Copper End Feed Fittings Primaflow
Uses and limitations
Only suitable for heating and plumbing applications using copper tube. Suitable for hot and cold water services including mains.
Not suitable for gas.
Directions
- Before starting work turn off any related heating appliance.
- Isolate water supply at point of installation.
- Drain system where necessary.
- Cut copper tube with a tube cutter.
- Clean tube and fitting, applying flux to both sparingly.
- Push the tube firmly into the fitting and heat gently with a blow torch.
- When flux boils feed in the required amount of solder.*
- Allow joint to cool and wipe away all surplus flux.
- Turn on water and check for leaks.
To protect paintwork and surroundings a flame-proof mat should be used. Lead free solder must be used on potable water surfaces.
If in doubt consult a competent plumber.
As a general rule a length of solder equivalent to the diameter of the pipe to be joined will be adequate. Eg. For 15mm joint use 15mm length of solder.
