Regular and proper care will ensure that your umbrella remains colorful and will last for many Sunnydaze summers to come.

Opening & Closing

When opening, make sure the umbrella opens freely. If there is resistance when opening, DO NOT FORCE the umbrella open because it will damage the umbrella. Check the umbrella to see if the ribs are locked together; gently pull the ribs apart to assist the opening process.

When closed, pull the loose canopy fabric from between each rib to prevent it from getting jammed or trapped between the ribs and umbrella structure. If fabric becomes trapped, it may result in unnecessary wear and holes in the fabric. Secure the fabric and frame with a strap or tie.

Sun Exposure

All fabrics will eventually fade from sun exposure. However, it is possible to maintain an umbrella’s color for years to come by covering it with an umbrella cover or storing it indoors when not in use.

Wind Exposure

In the event of light to moderate wind, the umbrella may become unstable and tip over if not supported by a suitable base with reasonable weight. Leaving the canopy open during moderate to high wind conditions may result in the umbrella becoming airborne. If severe winds are expected or experienced, close the canopy immediately and store the umbrella indoors. Always close the umbrella when not in use.

Water Exposure

When the umbrella becomes damp from rain, open the canopy as soon as possible to allow the fabric to dry. If left closed while wet, mildew may appear on the canopy and frame. After heavy rains check the pole to make sure it has not taken on water; empty any accumulated water. Allowing the pole to remain in a wet environment will increase the likelihood of the pole rusting.

Cleaning

Brush or vacuum loose dirt from the umbrella canopy. Wiping down the canopy and frame with a soft damp cloth and warm water is usually sufficient.

If the canopy or frame has more stubborn stains, clean with mild soap and warm water, using a soft bristle brush. Use a hose sprayer and rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue; leaving residue will attract dust/dirt. Open the umbrella canopy and allow to air dry thoroughly. Do not close or store the umbrella before it is completely dry; doing so will promote mildew growth and could stretch the canopy fabric.

Do not remove the canopy from the frame and never use bleach, detergents, harsh chemicals or abrasive materials to clean the canopy or the frame. Storage Store the umbrella in a dry, protected area. A cover or storage bag is recommended.

Any modification or failure to follow the recommended care will void the product warranty.
