Safety instructions

Intended use This device is used for tuning string instruments. Any other use or use under other operating conditions is considered to be improper and may result in personal injury or property damage. No liability will be assumed for damages resulting from improper use.

Danger for childrenEnsure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are disposed of properly and are not within reach of babies and young children. Choking hazard! Ensure that children do not detach any small parts from the product. They could swallow the pieces and choke! Never let children unattended use electrical devices.Possible damage by leaking batteries Leaking batteries can cause permanent damage to the device. Take batteries out of the device if it is not going to be used for a longer period.

Where to use the product Never use the product

  • in direct sunlight
  • in conditions of extreme temperature or humidity
  • in extremely dusty or dirty areas
  • at locations where the unit can become wet
  • near magnetic fields

General handling

  • To prevent damage, never use force when handling the product.
  • Never immerse the product in water. Just wipe it with a clean dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners such as benzene, thinners or flammable cleaning agents.

Keep foreign substances from the unit! Keep the device away from containers with liquids. Should any liquid get into the unit, this could lead to its destruction or fire. Be sure not to let any metal objects into the unit.

Installing the battery

  1. Press on the battery compartment cover to open the battery compartment.
  2. Insert the supplied battery type CR 2032 into the battery compartment respecting the correct polarity.
  3. Close the battery compartment.

The battery life depends on the operating conditions. If the device doesn’t work as described in this manual and if switching off and on doesn’t solve the problem, remove the battery and reinsert it again to solve the problem.

Using the device

  1. Clip the device on the instrument where the strongest vibrations may occur.
  2. Keep the button pressed for about three seconds to power on the device. Press the button repeatedly to select the desired tuning mode: chromatic, guitar, bass, violin or ukulele. When you select “chromatic”, the display shows the note name. When you select an instrument, the display shows the string number and the note name.
  3. The display shows the note and the string number while playing. When the backlight turns to green and the measuring pointer is in the middle position, the string is correctly tuned. When the backlight is white and the pointer is on the left side, the string is tuned too low. If the pointer is on the right side, the string is tuned too high.
  4. Retune the string until the backlight turns to green.
  5. The device automatically switches off after three minutes without signal detection.
  6. To switch off the device manually, keep the -button pressed for about three seconds.

For the transport and protective packaging, environmentally friendly materials have been chosen that can be supplied to normal recycling. Ensure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are properly disposed of. Do not just dispose of these materials with your normal household waste, but make sure that they are collected for recycling. Please follow the notes and markings on the packaging.

Dispose lithium batteries only in discharged condition. Remove replaceable lithium batteries from the device before disposal. Protect used lithium batteries from short circuits, for example by covering the poles with adhesive tape. Permanently installed lithium batteries must be disposed of together with the device. Please inquire about a suitable acceptance point.

Dispose of this product through an approved waste disposal firm or through your local waste facility. Comply with the rules and regulations that apply in your country.
