Before you begin

Be sure the ON(I)/OFF(O) switch is in the ON(I) position.The ON(I)/OFF(O) switch is located on the bottom of Thomas.

Let’s Play

BATTERY “Sleep” Mode: If you do not play with the engines for more than 5 minutes, Thomas will automatically go to “sleep” and shut-off to preserve the life of the batteries. To begin play again, press the buttons on the remote control to “wake” Thomas up.

PARENTS’ NOTE: For best performance, use on a hard flat surface or low-pile carpeting. For best results, make sure the remote control is no further than 15 feet (4.6 meters) away from Thomas while playing.

REQUIRESPhillips screwdriver (not included) for battery installation.Three AAA (LR03) alkaline batteries for remote control, and four AA (LR6) alkaline batteries for Thomas. Batteries are not included. For longer life, use alkaline batteries.

BATTERY INSTALLATIONUnscrew and lift covers away from back end of Thomas and back of remote control.Install batteries as indicated inside the battery compartments.

SYMPTOM SOLUTION

 

Engines drive slowly

The wheels on the engines may be dirty. Clean with a damp cloth.

Battery power may be low. First change the batteries in the engine(Thomas). If still slow, change the batteries in the remote control.

 

Engine(Thomas) is malfunctioning

 

First check battery installation or you may need to reset the electronics by removing the batteries and reinstalling them.

If the engine (Thomas) continues to malfunction or no longer operates, it’s time to replace the batteries with fresh batteries.

 

Engine(Thomas) does not respond to

the remote control

Battery power may be low in the engine or the remote control. First replace the batteries in the engine. If there is still no response, replace the batteries in the remote control.

The maximum range between the remote control and engine(Thomas) is about 15 feet (4,6 meters). Operate the remote control closer to the engine(Thomas). Remove any objects between them.

Try dimming the lights in the room. Bright sunlight or fluorescent lights may affect the range of the remote control.

BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATION

  • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
  • Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the product before being charged.
  • Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
  • Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
  • Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity (+ and -).
  • Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the product.
  • The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
  • Dispose of batteries safely.
  • Do not dispose of this product in a fire. The batteries inside may explode or leak.
