INSTRUCTIONS
H-3440 STANDARD CIRCUIT BREAKER LOCKOUT
- Move breaker to off position.
- Open red handle of lockout. (See Figure 1)
- Place lockout over breaker toggle. Turn the black knob of the lockout clockwise until grips touch toggle. Do not overtighten. When the handle is closed, the grips will tighten against the toggle. (See Figure 2)
- Move the red handle to the closed position. Check that lockout is secure and the breaker cannot be moved to the “on” position. (See Figure 3)
- Apply padlock.
H-3439 OVERSIZED CIRCUIT BREAKER LOCKOUT
- Move breaker to off position.
- Open red handle of lockout. (See Figure 1)
- Place lockout on the side of the breaker toggle. Turn the black knob clockwise until grips touch toggle. Do not overtighten. When the handle is closed, the grips will tighten against the toggle. (See Figure 4)
- Move the red handle to the closed position. Check that lockout is secure and the breaker cannot be moved to the “on” position. (See Figure 3)
- Apply padlock.
ACCESSORIES
BANDSThe H-3439 and H-3440 Circuit Breaker Lockouts work with the majority of breakers found in industrial facilities. However, in the instance of a breaker with an odd-shaped toggle, it is recommended to use one of the enclosed bands. Place one or more bands over the breaker toggle, then apply the Circuit Breaker Lockout. (See Figure 5)METAL CLIPSFor double or triple breakers with a metal tie bar, it is recommended to use the metal clip included with the H-3440 Circuit Breaker Lockout. Slide it over the adjustable jaw of the H-3440, then apply the device to the breaker. (See Figure 6)
