INSTRUCTIONS

POSITIONING

  1. For optimum light duration throughout the night, place solar light in a spot where it will receive the maximum amount of direct sunlight throughout the day, free from any obstacles and shade.
  2. Make sure the solar panel is not going to be affected by any other light source at night; otherwise, the light will not turn on at dusk. NOTE: The unit will operate optimally after two full days of charging.

OPERATION

  1. Turn the operation switch to the on position, and the solar light will automatically operate from dusk to dawn. (See Figure 1)

INSTALLATION

  1. Screw each of the poles and the fixture together tightly. (See Figure 2)
  2. Attach the stake to the unit by twisting it on to the bottom pole. (See Figure 2)

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

NOTE: After several years of use, the battery may need replacing.

  1. Remove the three screws from the top of the lamp and remove the top from the fixture. (See Figure 3)
  2. Remove the screws from the LED dome on the underside of the top. (See Figure 4)
  3. Take battery out of its secured position and unclip its wire. Clip new battery in and reinstall lamp in reverse order. (See Figure 5)

WARNING! Do not dispose of li-ion battery in the regular trash, municipal waste stream or by fire, as batteries may leak or explode. Do not open, short circuit or mutilate batteries, as injury may occur. Recycle li-ion batteries or dispose of them in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Do not mix old and new batteries.

MAINTENANCE

  1. Clean solar panel regularly with a damp towel to guarantee optimum performance. NOTE: Do not use any type of solvent for cleaning and do not to put excessive pressure on module while cleaning.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If solar-charged light does not come on at dusk, despite observance of all the instructions, try the following:

  1. Make sure solar light is not affected by any other light source.
  2. Ensure solar light is not affected by any shade during the day.
  3. Make sure switch is in on position.
  4. Check that batteries are installed correctly. NOTE: The performance of solar lamp will vary with time of year. It will deliver more light when it has a full day of direct sun rather than a day in overcast weather.

WINTER TIPS:For optimal performance, be sure to remove any snow or debris accumulation from the solar panel. A solar panel free of debris will charge the batteries much more efficiently.
