Safety Instructions

  • Read and understand this manual and all safety signs before using this appliance.
  •  Class III appliance.
  • Indoor use only.
  • Do not use near inflammable products or in explosive atmospheres. Be careful when using the appliance in places where there are combustible materials. Do not use in presence of an explosive atmosphere. Heat may be conducted to combustible materials which are out of sight. Only use in properly ventilated rooms.
  •  A fire may result if the appliance is not used with care. Do not touch the shafts and tips as this can cause serious burns. Keep the tips away from the body, clothes, or other flammable material. Do not aim at the eyes. Use gloves and/or heat-resistant tools to pick up the PCB assembly to prevent burns. Always return the irons and gun to their stands between uses. Place on its stand after use and allow to cool before storage. Place the device on a level, stable, and fire-resistant working surface.
  • Do not inhale solder fumes. The vapors that are released during soldering are harmful. Therefore, you shall only use the soldering station in well-ventilatedareas or under an exhaust hood (solder fume extractor). Dispose of fume filters and solder residue in accordance with local regulations.
  • WARNING – This tool must be placed on its stand when not in use. Do not leave the tool unattended when switched on. Use the soldering iron on a heatproof workbench. Let a hot soldering iron cool down naturally and do not immerse in water.
  • Always keep tips coated with tin to ensure long service life.
  •  This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience andknowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
  •  There are no user-serviceable parts inside the device. Refer to an authorized dealer for service and/or spare parts.
  • Do not immerse the device in any liquid. Keep the main unit away from high heat and fire.3. General Guidelines

Operation

Battery and ChargingWarning: Do not puncture batteries or throw them on fire as they may explode. Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries (alkaline). Dispose of batteries in accordance with local regulations. Keep batteries away from children.

  • Prior to first use, insert the rechargeable battery into the soldering iron. Open the soldering iron by turning the back part to the left. Insert the battery in the shaft, the negative pole on the bottom. Close the soldering iron and proceed to a complete charge.
  •  Connect the stand to a USB port using the included USB cable. To do this, insert the small plug into the stand and the larger plug into a powered USB port.
  • Place the soldering iron in the stand. The charging LED will light red while charging. The soldering iron is ready for use as soon as the charging LED turns green.

General Operation

  • Take the soldering iron out of its stand.
  • Hold the soldering button pressed. You can solder as soon as the soldering LED lights.
  • When finished soldering, release the soldering button and place the soldering iron in its stand.
  •  Disconnect the stand from the power supply and let the soldering iron cool after use.

Tips on How to Solder

  • File off any dirt, rust or paint on the part you wish to solder.
  • Heat the part with the soldering iron.
  •  Apply rosin-based solder to the part and melt it with the soldering iron. When using non-rosin-based solder, be sure to apply a soldering paste to the part before applying the solder.
  • Wait for the solder to cool and harden before moving the soldered part.

Maintenance

  • Occasionally wipe with a damp cloth to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents or strong detergents.
  • Store the appliance, its accessories, and this user manual in the original packaging. Always store in a cool and dry place.
