Operating instructions

Intended useThe product is suitable for charging and operating USB devices in vehicles. Power supply is via a car cigarette lighter socket. The product features a USB-A and a USB-CTM port. The USB ports are protected against overload and short-circuit. It is only allowed to be used inside the car, not outdoors. Avoid contact with moisture at all costs.For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.This product complies with the statutory national and European requirements. Safety instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.

  • The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become dangerous playing material for children.
  • Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
  • Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
  • If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
    • is visibly damaged,
    • is no longer working properly,
    • has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
    • has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
  • Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the product.
  • Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected to the product.
  • Always turn the connected appliance off before connecting or disconnecting it.
  • Disconnect the USB car charger when not in use.
  • The product gets hot during use. Ensure sufficient ventilation and never cover the product during use.
  • Do not short-circuit the USB outputs.
  • Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm one. The condensation generated could destroy the product. Allow the device to reach room temperature before connecting and using it. This may take several hours.
  • Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
  • Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an expert or at a qualified shop.

Operation

Always switch off the USB device to be connected before connecting it to a USB port. Make sure the connection is correct. If the product is not connected properly, it could overheat or cause an electric shock or fire.Make sure the USB device matches the specifications of the USB car charger. Observe the information in chapter “Technical data”.

• The product can charge two USB devices at once. Connect one or two powered down USB devices to the USB-A (3) and/or USB-CTM port (4). USB-CTM connections are common in many newer devices such as mobile telephones.• Connect the cigarette lighter plug (1) to the cigarette lighter socket in your vehicle. The LED indicator lamp (2) lights up and indicates, that the product is ready for operation.• The connected USB device is now charging. Should you wish to operate the USB device, you may turn it on now.• Turn off the connected USB device before disconnecting it from the USB port or before disconnecting the USB car charger from the cigarette lighter socket.• Unplug the cigarette lighter plug from the cigarette lighter socket after use.

You may use the USB car charger with the engine running or off. However, avoid starting the engine while the product is connected as this cuts power to the cigarette lighter socket briefly (this may not apply to all vehicle models). If the engine is switched off, drawing current over a longer period of time will discharge the vehicle battery.

Cleaning and care

• Always disconnect the USB car charger from the cigarette lighter socket and all connected USB devices from the USB ports before cleaning.• Under no circumstances use aggressive cleanings agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions since these can penetrate the housing or impair functionality.• Clean the product with a dry, fibre-free cloth.

DisposalElectronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste. At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with applicable regulatory guidelines. You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
