SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNINGPLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY AND KEEP THEM FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.INTENDED USE.Only operate the VonShef 2800W Induction Hob for its intended purpose and within the parameters specified in this manual.This appliance is for indoor, domestic use only. Do not use outdoors, on wet surfaces, or for commercial purposes. This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless supervised or given appropriate instruction concerning the product’s use by a person responsible for their safety.This appliance is not intended for use by children.WARNING! Customers with implanted cardiac pacemakers or other electronic medical implants may be advised by their doctors to avoid proximity to induction cooking surfaces and other sources of magnetic fields. We do not, therefore, recommend the Induction Hob for use by such individuals.GENERAL PRECAUTIONS.When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:Do not allow to be used as a toy. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the Induction Hob.If the Hob is not functioning properly, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or immersed in liquid, do not use it, contact DOMU Brands Customer Services.Do not use the Hob if any parts appear to be faulty, missing, or damaged.

CABLES AND PLUGS.Check to ensure your electricity supply matches that shown on the rating plate. This product should only be used as rated. Preferably, the socket-outlet should be protected by a Residual Current Device (RCD).Do not use a damaged cable or plug. If the supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified engineer or authorized service agent in order to avoid a hazard.The use of an extension cable is not recommended.Do not handle the plug or appliance with wet hands.Keep the cable away from heated surfaces.Do not let the cable hang over the edge of the table or countertop where it could be pulled on inadvertently by children or pets.Do not pull the cable around sharp edges or corners.Do not leave unattended when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use. Turn off all controls before unplugging.Do not unplug by pulling on the cable. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cable. Always unplug before cleaning or performing user maintenance.Ensure the cable is stored safely to prevent hazards.

RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY.Always use the Induction Hob on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.Do not use the appliance near or under cupboards, curtains or combustible materials.Position the appliance 5-10cm away from walls and other objects.Only use pans with a diameter of 1226cm. Pans with a base larger than 26cm may deform due to the heat created by the Induction  Hob.Do not use oversized pans (e.g. catering pans) as this will cause overheating and damage to the Hob.Ensure pan handles are positioned so they cannot be knocked or caught.Do not use a heat diffuser or place any other material between the Hob and the pan whilst in use.The Induction Hob is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.When using for the first time, your Induction Hob may give off a ‘new’ smell or vapor. This will dissipate after a few uses.Do not insert any objects into openings or cover the appliance.The Induction Hob will heat the pan very rapidly; add food to the pan first before turning the Hob on. Heating an empty pan can discolor the metal and may warp thebase.Do not touch the Hob whilst in operation as it will become hot during use.Do not place a metal or magnetic items (such as credit cards, computer discs, etc.) that may be affected by magnetic fields onto the Hob. Do not lift or move the Hob whilst in use. Do not leave the Hob unattended when in use.If the Hob becomes cracked, switch off immediately to avoid the possibility of electric shock.Always allow cooling completely before cleaning.Do not lubricate any parts or carry out any maintenance or repair work other than that shown in this manual, or as advised by the DOMU Brands Customer Care Helpline.Use only as described in this manual and do not exceed maximum capacity. Use only DOMU Brands recommended attachments.

INTRODUCTION TO INDUCTION HOB COOKING

Induction cooking uses an electromagnetic coil to converts energy into heat. When the Hob is turned n, and an induction-suitable pan is placed on top, a magnetic field is generated which will heat the pan and cook the food.IMPORTANT: Only use flat-bottomed, induction suitable pans that are compatible with this Hob.TIP: If you are unsure whether the cookware you have is suitable for use with this appliance, test by holding a magnet to the base of the pan; if you find that the magnet sticks, the pan can be used on this Hob.IMPORTANT: This Induction Hob is only suitable for pans with a diameter of 12-26cm.CAUTION: Metal cooking utensils are not recommended since they can be heated through the Induction Hob if left in the pan during cooking.

NOTE: If the cookware is unsuitable for use, the Hob will show “E0” on the LED Display.NOTE: If the wrong sized pan is used, the Hob will show “E0” on the LED Display.

BEFORE FIRST USE

Before using this appliance for the first time, please ensure you complete the following steps:

  • Carefully unpack the Induction Hob and remove all packaging materials, including any stickers or labels.
  • Clean the CERAMIC PLATES with a damp cloth or sponge. Wipe dry with a soft dry cloth.WARNING! Never immerse the Induction Hob or the cord in water or any other liquid.CAUTION: Do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive cleaners as they will damage the exterior surface.
  • Position the Induction Hob on a dry, level, and heat-resistant surface.CAUTION: Metal cooking utensils are not recommended for use with the Induction Hob as they may heat up if left in the pan.

CONTROL PANEL

MAX – Instantly switches the power or temperature to maximum.MIN – Instantly switches the power or temperature to a minimum.UP ( ) – Increases the power, temperature, and time.DOWN ( ) – Decreases the power, temperature, and time.LOCK – Pressing MAX and MIN at the same time will engage the safety lock feature. ‘LOC’ will appear on the LED DISPLAY and a beep sound will be emitted.All other buttons will become inoperable. Press and hold MAX and MIN again to unlock.ON/OFF – Switches the appliance on and off. The ‘Power’ indicator light above the LED DISPLAY will illuminate.FUNCTION – Press the FUNCTION button to cycle through the available functions ‘Power’, ‘Temp’, and ‘Time’. The corresponding indicator light above the LED DISPLAY will illuminate to show the function chosen.POWER – Adjustable from 200W – 1800W  using the ( ) and ( ) buttons.TEMP – There are 10 levels to select (60ºC- 240ºC); use ( ) and ( ) to increase or decrease during operation.TIME – The default time setting will display ‘0’ on the LED DISPLAY. Press either ( ) or ( ) to adjust (5-180 minutes). Holding the ( ) or ( ) button will increase or decrease the time by 10 minutes increments.If there is a problem with the Induction Hob, one of the following error codes may appear on the LED DISPLAY:

IMPORTANT: Always ensure pans are placed centrally on the Hob for even heat distribution.IMPORTANT: -H- will be displayed when the appliance is turned off to indicate that the surface will be hot to touch.IMPORTANT: You will need to make full contact with the touch screen sensors in order for all operations on the CONTROL PANEL to work. This may require you to make contact with the button itself and the sensory area surrounding it (it may be necessary to use your thumb rather than your finger for better coverage).

OPERATION

  • Place the Induction Hob on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface.
  • Sit induction-compatible cookware onto the  CERAMIC PLATE, ensuring it is positioned in the center for even heat distribution. IMPORTANT: The Induction Hob is suitable for stainless steel, enamel, and cast iron cookware with a diameter of 12cm-26cm. Do not use pots or pans made from aluminum, copper, or aluminum alloy. Pans must have a smooth, flat base.
  • Add your food to the pan before placing the pan on the Hob.WARNING! The pan, with food inside, should be placed on the Induction Hob before the appliance is turned on.WARNING! Do not place any empty cookware onto the CERAMIC PLATE. Heating an empty pot or pan will activate the overheating protection and the appliance will turn off.WARNING! Keep metal or magnetic-sensitive items away from the Hob’s magnetic field.
  • Plug the Induction Hob into a suitable mains socket. The appliance will beep and the fans will turn on. Press and hold the ON/ OFF BUTTON to turn on the appliance. The indicator light above the button will illuminate.
  • Press the FUNCTION BUTTON once; the LED DISPLAY will show ‘1300’ (left side) ‘1000’ (right side) and the ‘Power’ INDICATOR LIGHT will illuminate. This is the default power setting. To increase or decrease power, press the ( ) or ( ) buttons. Alternatively, you can press the MAX or MIN BUTTON to automatically adjust to the max or minimum power settings.
  • Press the FUNCTION BUTTON for a second time and the ‘Time’ function will be selected. The ‘Time’ INDICATOR LIGHT will be flashing. The default setting will display ‘0’. Use the ( ) button to increase the time by 5-minute segments and the ( ) button to decrease the time by 5-minute segments. Alternatively, press and hold to increase time continuously (up to a maximum of 180 minutes). Once the timer is set, the ‘Power’ and ‘Timer’ INDICATOR LIGHTS will illuminate.NOTE: The MAX/MIN BUTTONS will not work on this function.
  • Pressing the FUNCTION BUTTON a third time will select the ‘Temp’ function. The ‘Temp’ INDICATOR LIGHT will illuminate and the LED DISPLAY will show ‘240ºC’. Again, this can be increased or decreased by pressing the ( ) or ( ) buttons (60ºC- 240ºC).NOTE: The power or temperature settings can be altered at any time during operation by pressing the FUNCTION BUTTON and choosing the desired function.
  • Once the cooking process is complete, do not disconnect the appliance from the mains until the cooling fan has stopped.CAUTION: When removing cookware from the Induction Hob, ensure you lift rather than slide across the CERAMIC PLATE to avoid damaging the surface.CAUTION: The Hob will remain hot for some time after the removal of a pan. Always allow cooling before touching or cleaning.NOTE: The cooling fan will remain on after use in order to cool internal parts which become hot during operation. This is not a fault with the appliance. Do not unplug the appliance during the cooling process  The fan will stop running after a few minutes.

HINTS & TIPS

It will take a few attempts at cooking with your Induction Hob to get used to how quickly and efficiently it works and to adapt your cooking times accordingly.The first few times you use the Induction Hob, it may seem to cook very quickly. For the first few uses, don’t use the timer, stay with your food so that you can alter the heat if required.Because the Induction Hob is so efficient, you may also want to start with a lower cooking temperature than you usually would and increase gradually if necessary.CAUTION: Even though the Induction Hob may not appear hot, do not touch the appliance until completely cool as it may remain hot for some time after cooking.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

CAUTION: Always disconnect the appliance from the mains before carrying out cleaning or maintenance.

  • Wipe down the CERAMIC PLATE with a damp cloth and mild detergent.CAUTION: Do not use abrasive cleaning products such as scouring pads to clean the CERAMIC PLATES as this will damage the surface.WARNING! Never immerse the Induction Hob or power cord in water or any other liquid.
  • Dry thoroughly before storing in a cool, dry place with the power cord loosely coiled.
