INTRODUCTION

Meet the adorable Cuddle & Play Koala by VTech®! This cute, soft fabric koala is great for on-the-go play. Koala’s textured fabrics provide tactile stimulation and encourage interaction. Press Koala’s tummy to see his mouth light up and to hear exciting music, cool songs, and fun phrases which support and encourage language development.

GETTING STARTED

Battery Removal and Installation

  1. Make sure the unit is turned Off.
  2. Locate the battery cover on the back of the electronic module. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and then open up the battery cover.
  3. Remove old batteries by pulling up one end of each battery.
  4. Install 2 new AAA batteries following the diagram inside the battery box.
  5. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.

BATTERY NOTICE

  • Use new alkaline batteries or fully charged NI-MH (Nickel Metal-hydride) rechargeable batteries for best performance.
  • Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.
  • Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable or new and used batteries.
  • Do not use damaged batteries.
  • Insert batteries with the correct polarity.
  • Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
  • Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
  • Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
  • Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
  • Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
  • Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging (if removable).
  • Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.

Disposal of batteries and productThe crossed-out wheelie bin symbols on products and batteries, or on their respective packaging, indicates they must not be disposed of in domestic waste as they contain substances that can be damaging to the environment and human health.

The chemical symbols Hg, Cd, or Pb, where marked, indicate that the battery contains more than the specified value of mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead (Pb) set ut in Battery Directive (2006/66/EC).The solid bar indicates that the product was placed on the market after 13th August 2005. Help protect the environment by disposing of your product or batteries responsibly.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SURFACE WASHING

The Cuddle & Play Koala is surface washable only. Please remove the Electronic Module from the koala before cleaning.

  1. Open the hook-and-loop closure on the back of the koala and remove the Electronic Module.
  2. Wipe down the koala with a damp cloth.
  3. After surface washing, re-insert the Electronic Module and secure the hook-and-loop closure.

PRODUCT FEATURES

  1. On/Off/Volume SwitchTo turn the unit On, slide the On/Off/Volume Switch to the Low volume or the High volume position. You will hear a song, a phrase, and a short tune. To turn the unit  Off, slide the On/Off/Volume Switch to the Off •position.
  2. Automatic Shut-OffTo preserve battery life, the Cuddle & Play Koala will automatically shut off after approximately 35 seconds without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing the  Heart Button, or by activating the Motion Sensor. Triggering the motion sensor continuously for approximately 10 minutes without any other input will cause the unit to shut off. Press the Heart Button to turn the unit back on.

NOTEIf the unit powers down or if the light fades out during play, please install a new set of batteries.

ACTIVITIES

  1. Heart ButtonPress the Heart Button to hear about the koala and to hear sing-along songs, playful sounds and melodies. The light will flash with the sound.
  2. Motion SensorShake the koala to activate the motion sensor and hear a variety of playful sounds and short tunes. If a melody is playing, activate the motion sensor to hear fun sounds play over the melody. The light will flash with the sound.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

  1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
  2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat sources.
  3. Remove the batteries if the unit will not be in use for an extended period of time.
  4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
  5. The plush koala is surface washable only. Please remove the Electronic Module from the koala before cleaning.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:

  1. Please turn the unit OFF.
  2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
  3. Let the unit sit for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
  4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play with again.
  5. If the product still does not work, install a brand new set of batteries.
