WARNING:All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging locks, removable tags, cable ties, cords and packaging screws are not part of this toy and should be discarded for your child’s safety.NOTE:Please keep this parent’s guide as it contains important information.

GETTING STARTED

The batteries included are for demo purposes only. Please replace the low capacity Try Me batteries with new batteries for the best performance. Slide the Demo/Off/On Switch to the ON position to start.NOTE:Playing at close range for a prolonged period of time may cause fatigue or discomfort. We recommend that children take a 15-minute break for every hour of play.Battery Removal and Installation

Mak e sure the unit is turned OFF.
Locate the battery cover on the back of the unit, use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and open the battery box.
Remove old batteries by pulling up one end of each battery.
Install 2 new AAA (AM-4/LR03) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (For best performance, alkaline batteries or fully charged Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are recommended)
Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.

WARNING:Adult assembly is required for battery installation.Keep batteries out of reach of children.

IMPORTANT: BATTERY INFORMATION

Insert batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -).
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable batteries.
Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.

RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES:

Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging.
Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.

Disposal of batteries and productThe crossed-out wheelie bin symbols on products and batteries, or on their respective packaging, indicates they must not be disposed of in domestic waste as they contain substances that can be damaging to the environment and human health.The chemical symbols Hg, Cd or Pb, were marked, indicate that the battery contains more than the specified value of mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead (Pb) set out in Battery Directive (2006/66/EC).The solid bar indicates that the product was placed on the market after 13th August 2005.Help protect the environment by disposing of your product or batteries responsibly.VTech ® cares for the planet.Care for the environment and give your toy a second life by disposing of it at a small electricals collection point so all its materials can be recycled.In the UK:Visit www.recyclenow.com to see a list of collection points near you.In Australia & New Zealand:Check with your local council for curbside collections.

PRODUCT FEATURES

Demo/Off/On SwitchTo turn the unit ON, slide the Demo/Off/On Switch to the ON position. To turn the unit OFF, slide the Demo/Off/On Switch to the OFF position.
Automatic Shut OffTo preserve battery life, Ava will automatically power down after several seconds without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing her hair button, mouth button or charm button.NOTE: If the unit powers down while playing, please install a new set of batteries.

ACTIVITIES

Colour AvaAva lights up in the colours you choose for her. Press Ava’s Charm Button to choose a colour. Then, touch her eyes, hair and ears to add the selected colour to them.
Ava’s MoodAva expresses her mood through colour. Press her Light-Up Hair Button to see how she feels. Then, touch her eyes or ears for some additional colour commentary.
Colour FunAva likes to pick a lucky colour for you. Press her Ear Sensor and she’ll select a lucky colour and tell you how that colour makes her feel.
Imagine with AvaAva wants you to share your imagination with her. Cover and hold one of Ava’s Eye Sensors and she’ll ask you to tell her something you’veimagined. Keep her Eye Sensor covered as you tell her. Uncover her Eye Sensor and she’ll tell you how much she loves your imagination.
Musical AvaAva loves to sing. Tap Ava’s Mouth Button, and she will sing, hum or even surprise you with a kiss! Careful, sometimes she even blows raspberries!
Running FunAva loves to run through the skies!Help her wiggle her tail by pressing her Leg Lever. She’ll make magical sounds and cheer as she pretends to run through a rainbow.
Cuddle and CareEvery fox needs love. Touch Ava’s Eye Sensor or Ear Sensor to take care of her and get a fun surprise.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Keep Ava clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
Keep Ava out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat sources.
Remove the batteries when Ava is not in use for an extended period of time.
Do not drop Ava on a hard surface and do not expose the unit to excess moisture.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If for some reason Ava stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:

Turn Ava Off.
Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
Let Ava stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
Turn Ava On. She will now be ready to play with again.
If Ava still does not work, install a new set of new batteries.
