getting started
Here are the five stages of pumping with Willow for the first time.
check your Willow size
What’s your Willow size? Your size for Willow might be different than the size you use for another pump! Using the right size for your Flange or Milk Container can make all the difference when it comes to comfort and milk volume you get with Willow. You need to measure the size of the base of your nipple to get the correct size for Willow.Visit willowpump.com/sizeme to check your size and see which accessories are available.
For more details:See pages 8-9 in the Instructions for Use
your bra matters
The bra you wear while pumping with Willow needs to keep the Pump pressed firmly and securely against your breast. Use a full-coverage nursing bra with a flap.
TIP: If it feels like Willow might shift when you move, tighten your bra or pick a different one.For more details: Visit willowpump.com

put a flange on the body
Hold the Flange against your breast, centering your nipple in the Flange Tunnel (we call this alignment). Look down and to the sides as you center your nipple.
For more details:See pages 18-20 in the Instructions for Use
check if your nipple’s centered
Look through the clear Flange. The tip of your nipple should NOT touch the top, sides, or bottom of the Flange Tunnel. If it does, try again.
NOTE: If your nipple is touching the Flange Tunnel even with proper alignment, you may not have the correct Flange size.
connect pump
Once your nipple’s centered, connect the Pump.

check your volume & adjust suction
Use the Willow app to keep tabs on your progress. | Use the increase/decrease buttons on the Pump to find the suction level that’s right for you. |
- You’ll have access to the first three suction levels in Stimulation. Once you’re in Expression and have pumped about 0.5 oz. of milk, you’ll have access to all seven suction levels.
- If you haven’t transitioned to Expression within 2 minutes, you may need to realign.

flip to finish
You’ll see milk in the Flange Tunnel after you break the latch and remove Willow. Flip Willow upside down to capture this milk in the Milk Bag (psst … it’s normal for a few drops to be left in the Flextube™ after Flip to Finish).
