Dear music lover,

Thank you for purchasing a Pro-Ject Audio Systems Remote Box S2.

In order to achieve maximum performance and reliability you should study these instructions for use carefully.

Safety instructions

AC outlet voltages vary from country to country. Before connecting to the mains, make sure that the voltage in your area meets the voltage requirements printed on the power supply.

The power supply is used to connect/disconnect the unit from the mains. Make sure that the power supply is easily accessible at all times. Never handle the device, the power supply while your hands are wet or damp. Avoid letting liquids enter the device or the power supply. Never place any item containing liquid, such as a flower vase on or near the device. Never spill any liquid on the device or the power supply. Never place any naked flame sources, such as lighted candles on or near the device. The product shall not be used in damp or wet locations, next to a bathtub, sink, swimming pool or any other similar conditions

Connectors

External antenna

Connect supplied antenna to the connector on the back side of the unit.

Mains power connection

Connect the low voltage plug from the power supply to the Power 5VDC socket before connecting the power supply to the mains.

Main power switch

The push button on the left hand side of the front panel turns the unit on or back into standby. The blue LED above the power button indicates the status of the unit:

BT connection

Pairing with Android devicesOpen Settings and tap on BT. Turn on BT and tap on Scan. Searched devices will show up. Tap on Remote Box S2 and confirm presented pairing code on your Android device. Then confirm by pressing button once the blue LED above button is blinking. Confirm “Pairing” on your Android device.

Older devices may request a pairing code. Enter “0000” and confirm. No more confirmation on BT Box S2 is then needed.

BT pairing with Apple® devicesRemote Box S2 is connected automatically to Apple devices. Connection can be checked in Settings>BT>My devices

On both Apple and Android application use only one remote box type device (Remote Box S2, MaiA DS/DS2 in range. Android device need to have a remote box in paired list.

BT remote control functionIR emitting diodes are located on the front panel of the product. Free view has to be ensured for reliable use of remote control function.

Warning:

  1. BT connection must be established prior using Remote Box S2 remote control function over Box control app.
  2. BT remote control function is available in Box control app version 1.6.7 (Android) and 1.2.4 (Apple) and higher.
  • Connect your device to Remote Box S2 over BT
  • Run Box Control app
  • After first start is automatically opened Setup wizard
  • in the first step (Select your Devices) select Remote Box S and confirm with “Next” (- in following steps select Media libraries, Media players if availbale and always confirm with “Next”)
  • in the last step (Select your Remote Controls) select remotes which you want to have in the app. Confirm with “Next”

Pro-Ject devices uses the same remote control for more similar products. E.g. select Pre Box RS digital from the list to control Pre Box DS2 Digital.

  • to add more remotes open “Settings” > “Remotes” and choose desired remotes.

Learning function

lock symbol in the upper left corner next to the name of the remote allows or denies to change a command of existing Pro-Ject remote. Short tap lock or unlock the remote. When unlocked, long tap allows to learn new command, simply follow the step on display.

Pre-programmed Pro-Ject remotes can be changed too
